David Nolan on Richard Viguerie

Libertarian Party founder David Nolan has written a short article connecting several of the recent controversies in the LP. A list of topics covered would spoil the entire piece (hint: check the tags), so here’s the gist in Nolan’s own words:

Clearly, Barr and Viguerie are attempting to gain control of the LP so that Barr can campaign on a conservative/libertarian hybrid platform and Viguerie can extend his fundraising empire into the libertarian quadrant of the political universe.

Bob Barr’s Leadership PAC is facing a great deal of scrutiny, especially from the Atlanta-Journal Constitution. They reported on the low rate at which his PAC contributes to the “Conservative” candidates the PAC claims to help raise funds.…

Rieske: CP ‘going nowhere slowly’

Max Rieske was interview by Miller Politics recently,

“I was extremely disappointed with my experience with and at the national Constitution Party convention in KS City; For one thing, Chuck Baldwin & Howard Phillips choice for Vice President was a lackluster lawyer who never ran for political office before and has absolutely no desire to build the parties base up or have the party ever win any office.”

Dean Barkley or Jesse Ventura?

Ballot-Access News just reported:

The ballot-qualified Minnesota Independence Party holds a primary in September. Filing is in July. Press reports from Minnesota indicate that both Jesse Ventura and Dean Barkley are considering running for U.S.
