Reform Party USA National Committee Chairman Charles Foster tells me, “In spite of what you may have heard to the contrary, we will be having a nominating convention later this year.” According to the RPUSA website, the convention will be held July 18-20 in Dallas.

I’ll go with the Reform Party that’s Ventura-esque.
Looking at the RPFL website it looks like they have two people in office and recently ran two other candidates in last two years.
Also, in Yuma County, Arizona they will be running some for office.
I also remember reading somewhere they ran a candidate or two in Maine in ’06.
Right now, it doesn’t look like the party is endorsing or running too many candidates, but a lot of these states seem to be have meet ups and etc.
Max Linn, by the way, is now running as a Democrat for Congress…

Florida’s party was revived for the Max Linn gubernatorial campaign… but he got a bit less than 2% of the vote.
I think they are running a few candidates. I almost wonder why they don’t just merge with the Independence Party of Florida and try to join into the new IP of America.
The IP of Florida has lots of registered voters… most by accident.
I am going to try very very hard to be there. Colorado and Nevada I believe are two states that have semi kind of Reform Some other states are Rhode Island, Minnesota, Texas, and a few others.
Personally, I am from New Jersey and I can’t wait to see the party come back from it’s ashes.
Reform Party of Kansas – Active and running candidates. Buchananesque
Reform Party of Ohio – Active and running candidates. Perot-esque.
Reform Party of Arizona – Active and attempting ballot-access. I think Perot-esque.
Mississippi and Florida also have ballot-access and are active. Both are mixed-bag groups. Florida runs candidates.
Hard to comment. There are still some Reform parties most definitely on the right, and I’ve never heard a straight answer on what “centrist” is supposed to mean anyway. I think we’re up to… 4 RPs now? Not counting the IP?
GE,
I’d say classify it as “centrist”.
However–we HAVE had two Reform Party stories in a week…
The Reform Party is impossible to cover at a national level because it’s just a collection of smoldering embers.
Charles Foster resigned last year as national chair of his faction of the Reform Party. He told me so himself.
Thanks for joining, Peter!
Yeah, I guess Reform Party does require its own category. Or maybe we should have a category for “centrist parties,” since I can’t imagine having too many Reform Party stories.
