California’s North Coast Journal takes a look at some of the lesser-known alternative candidates for president, including Real Food Party candidate Jimmy Carter; Eric Creviston and Ralph Robinson, friends and teachers at the same Indiana high school; and independents Chris Borcik, Jeff Brown, Don Cordell, Megally Z. Megally, and Jeff Petkevicius.
Regarding the better-known alternative parties, the newspaper writes, “The major minor parties are more effective at scuttling each other’s chances than rousting the two-headed troll that holds absolute power in this country. For example, you’d think that one socialist party would be enough in these times…but there are almost as many socialist parties as there are socialists. When these Alt Prez candidates aren’t micro-slicing their teeny share of the electoral pie, they’re conducting intra-party raids. The Constitution Party appeals to Libertarians to vote for their guy, and the Boston Tea Party wants to take votes from both, saying neither are true libertarians.”

They have certain goals they share. They should work together toward those goals instead of dividing their limited supporters.
Thinking that third parties should unify is completely dumb. Obviously, there are serious differences (even though I don’t understand them) between the socialist parties — heck, I can’t understand any real differences between the socialist parties and the Dems/Repubs.
What? You youngsters think the CP and LP should unify? Why should I compromise and support Barr? If I were willing to compromise, I’d vote for Obama.
