Modern Whig Party starts a ‘Future Voters Chapter’

A press release from the Modern Whig Party:
The Modern Whig Party has established a Future Voters Chapter catering to politically aware students who are not yet old enough to vote. This chapter is in recognition of the fact that numerous high-school students are included with the general membership of this national grassroots political organization

Kevin Bloomfield, a sophomore in suburban Columbus, OH, recently was the subject of a newspaper article relating to his active role in organizing the Modern Whig Party. He has accepted the role as coordinator for this new aspect of this mainstream organization. Members of the Future Voters Chapter are already signing on to provide assistance in various 2009 campaigns and ballot access drives involving Modern Whig Party members. This is particularly relevant as various state chapters initiate plans to place the Modern Whig Party on their respective state ballots as an official party. Members also are working to establish a platform relevant to future voters such as college tuition issues.

The Modern Whig Party national headquarters is in Washington, DC and caters to those who find themselves cherry-picking between traditionally Democratic ideals and traditionally GOP ideals. The grassroots movement is non-ideological and seeks to go for a realistic and mainstream approach that is non-fringe. The Modern Whig Party platform generally relates to fiscal responsibility, strong national defense and bold social progression. The organization expects to run various state and local candidates in 2009 as it prepares to back three members for Congress in 2010.

The Boston Tea Party’s Youth Caucus recognises that Boston Tea Party members are voters, at least in the party, at any age.
