The California Chronicle reports:
Berkeley, CA – A public memorial celebrating the life of former gubernatorial, presidential and vice-presidential candidate Peter Camejo will be held Saturday, Nov. 23, at 2 p.m. at the International House on the University of California at Berkeley campus (2299 Piedmont Ave), according to an announcement by family and friends.
Mr. Camejo died Sept. 13 at home in Folsom, CA after a lengthy fight with cancer.
Speakers at the Public Memorial at UCB – which, ironically, expelled Mr. Camejo for his activities as a student opposing the war in Vietnam in the 60’s – will include those who worked with him as a student leader during that era.
Other speakers include those Mr. Camejo worked with as a leader in the socially responsible investment industry; as the Green Party gubernatorial candidate in the 2003 Recall Election, and Green party gubernatorial runs in 2002 and 2006; as Ralph Nader’s vice-presidential candidate in 2004; and as an environmentalist and a civil rights activist. He also ran for President with the Socialist Workers Party.

Gravel is alright with me, just confused..
Yes, YOU GOT ME!!!
The whole time, I’ve been a socialist that aligns religion with my mad love for the state!
MUAHAHAHAHA!
OMG means “Oh My God.” You are a supporter of Mike Gravel, who, despite being libertarian, is a socialist in many ways. This uniting of religion and politics in a socialist way shows that you are clearly moving towards Catholic trotskyism. Praise God.

Paulie, When I get tenure as a university professor, I will. I thought of saying that I would when I finished my PH.D., but look what happened to Kevin Barrett.
You should let your freak flag fly.
I am a satire of myself: I actually truly have the beliefs in my heart and soul that I post here on this site, but I don’t actually act this way in public.
Which one?
….he’s a satire character…
Yes Fred and Paulie, I realized that after I had posted. It is unusual to have a thread on which I am thought to be more sane than someone.
Joseph, I grew up in a primarily Buddhist household, but then converted to agnosticism, and, through reading Trotsky’s autobiography, and the autobiographies of Bill Clinton, Robert La Follette and Barack Obama, I came to see a blending of trotskyism and progressivism. I also began studying libertarianism and liked some of what I found, and worked for a Republican state senator briefly, while also becoming the chairman of the Democratic Party in my area. Then, in college, I converted to Catholicism, having been educated by both liberal and conservative Catholic professors, while continuing under the mentorship of liberal and socialist secular professors. Though many people there do not know about my various intellectual loyalties, I am rapidly coming to a conclusion that there is a way to come to the ultimate truth based on a combination of liberalism, conservatism, libertarianism, socialism, and Christian theology. Barack Obama embodies this more than any politician of our time. I will be writing a book soon, and I believe that I will be the greatest political writer since Karl Marx, and the greatest theologian since Thomas Aquinas, though it might take another decade or so of growth and maturity.
Well, anyhow. The stuff CT says is just basic lunatic rantings that will never go anywhere. I’ve been watching you for a long time CT, you’re just one scary guy. Why don’t you write for Nolan Chart? You could be the first “statist” writer for them.
Fred, what are these numbers? Is this how old you think I am?
I took it to be how old Fred thinks LJ is.
What the hell…
wow, CT. Who the hell taught you this? Reading Trotsky’s writings or what?
No CT, it wasn’t directed at you. I don’t doubt your intellectual maturity in the least 😀
Joseph, the free market may have had some usefulness, but before that it was the state and church which controlled the market, and used the free market as a temporary instrument, which then got out of control.
Fred, what are these numbers? Is this how old you think I am? In fact, I am in my early 20s. Most teenagers would be incapable of such ideological advancement, though I came close even then.
hmm. the state invented what? war and death? I do believe that the free market invented all of those thing.
Yes, I am a real Catholic trotskyist. And even though religion and state have been abused profoundly, the world would be in an even more violent state without them, as they also brought about civilization. Writing, scholarship, education, architecture, science and relationships, all came from church, state, or some combination thereof, and to deny this is an unconcianable lie. Amen.
I’m guessing 15-17.
Joke ’em if they can’t take a fuck.
Catholic Trotskyist. Can it get any worse than that?
TRANSLATION: RELIGION STATE
The biggest murderers all rolled up into one gradiose institution of murder.
Hmm, I wonder if Camejo might actually have been a real Catholic Trotskyist at some point.
Who said anything about a fist fight? lol
Spoken by the person who is willing to have a fist fight with someone over some minor dispute on this site? You are probably just jealous because you were going to make a more negative comment about Camejo.
OUR FATHER, WHO ART IN HEAVEN, HALLOWED BE THY NAME. GOD BLESS DAVID BROWNLOW, GOD BLESS JOE BIDEN, GOD BLESS JIM MARTIN, GOD BLESS BILL AYERS. AMEN.
You’re a sick man, CT.
May God bless Peter Camejo and get him from purgatory to heaven as quickly as possible, and may it not take almost 70 years like with Trotsky. Despite his unfortunate associations with the satanic controller Ralph Nader, Camejo was a great man, and he would have been one of the first to support the ideology of Catholic Trotskyism, amen.
