Ballot Access News reports:
Pennsylvania has 67 counties. In Pennsylvania, all write-ins are legal (there is no procedure for write-in candidates to file in advance) and under the law, all should be tallied. However, once more, 17 counties have failed to include any write-ins from last month’s election, including the populous counties Cumberland, Lehigh, Luzerne, Montgomery, and Philadelphia.
Similar issues have been reported with many counties in different states all over the country.
Is it too late to count write-ins? You can call the county commissioners of Montgomery County here (I know the person in charge of tabulating votes in Montgomery County, if that’s of any significance):
610-Â278Â-3020
Without all counties counted, I doubt Baldwin reaches 200,000.
I wonder if they counted Lancaster. That’s where the national headquarters of the CP is and they had a candidate for Congress running there who got about 1% of the vote (he ran in part of Chester County, as well, but I’m not sure exactly where else).
There were three counties in California that did NOT count the write in votes for either Chuck Baldwin or Ron Paul. Their totals should not be considered complete…
Del Norte County, Mono County and San Benito County.
County officials should do their job and count officially registered and certified write in candidates which both Paul and Baldwin were.
Ross,
The CP in PA has a pretty good record.
In 1998, Jim Clymer was the Lt. Governor candidate behind Gubanatorial candidate Peggy Luksik and got 10.44% statewwide. The ticket recieved double digit percentages in 39 counties, over 20% in 9 counties, and recieved as much as 40.7% in one county. In 5 counties, they placed 2nd place.
The same ticket got 12.84% 4 years earlier for the same office. In 3 counties they placed 2nd.
When Clymer ran for Senate in 2000, he recieved 3.96%. He recieved double digit percentages in sometihng like 10 counties.
Clymer’s also been active in promoting better ballot access (which has been reasonably successful because the few-year-old organization he co-founded has found a sponsor for a bill in the State Senate) since his runs for office.
Have they elected anyone in PA?
Dont think so.
Is there a list of candidates the CP has elected? I can’t find anyone, except that one state legislator in Montana who wasn’t part of a CP state party that was affiliated with the national party.

Ross,
The CP in PA has a pretty good record.”
Except for the fact that they falied to qualify for the ballot in Pennsylvania this year. The fact that the Constitution Party’s National Office is located in Lancaster, PA makes failing to achive ballot status there look even worse.
I spoke to some people in the Constitution Party back around February-March of this year and I urged them to start their ballot access petition up then (in PA minor party & independent candidates can start gathering petition signatures on February 13th or 14th and they have until August 1st to turn in the required number of valid siganatures), but they did not listen to me and instead put it off for several weeks and then they ended up failing.
All the counties not counting writing vote seems to happen in Pennsylvania in every election.
It would be sad if Chuck Baldwin ends up with 199,999 votes.
Chuck Baldwin is a protectionist
“It would be sad if Chuck Baldwin ends up with 199,999 votes.”
No, that would be hilarious.
“Chuck Baldwin is a protectionist”
And you’re an asshole. Everyone has their faults, LJ. =P
I just learned something about the Charles Jay campaign. “Thomas J. Marino (Washington)” was one of the listed vice presidential candidates on what I presume was a write-in registration.
Does anyone have write-in vote totals for Washington, State?
http://vote.wa.gov/elections/wei/Results.aspx?RaceTypeCode=O&JurisdictionTypeID=1&ElectionID=26&ViewMode=Results only shows ballot listed candidates.
How am I an asshole? That’s because you can’t defend against the attacks of him being a protectionism. I already have a nickname for him, protectionist Baldwin.
protectionist*
Baldwin’s policies would single handedly lead to a nationwide depression that would dwarf the “Great Depression” is size and scope.
in*
Why should we ignore this? Why doesn’t he drop his protectionistic bs? Why else would Jerome Corsi have endorsed Baldwin or be a loyal CP member? The man is one of the biggest protectionist proponents out there!
