Third party debates: a thank you

In my previous e-mail, I sent to you the details of how events surrounding the debates transpired. Now, I would like to send a quick thank you to several people who made the debates possible.

As mentioned before, Allon Bran, the publisher of the Columbia Political Union, was extremely helpful and made every possible effort to make the Columbia debate almost reality. Thanks to him: and Amy Goodman of Democracy Now! who was willing and able to moderate the debate.

Thanks also to the Chuck Baldwin campaign, and Gary Odom in particular, for being nothing but honest and straightforward with us.

Thanks to Libertarian Vice Presidential candidate Wayne Allyn Root, who was a pleasure to work with, accommodating, helpful, and supportive in helping to pull off the VP debate- the polar opposite of running mate Bob Barr.

Thanks to the staff of the venues, the other candidates Darrell Castle, Matt Gonzalez and Ralph Nader that participated, and most of all to the donors and grassroots supporters who made the debates possible.

Now that the 2008 election is behind us, we can look forward to trying again to break the two party hold for 2010.

At the beginning of next year, Free and Equal will begin campaigning to challenge ballot access laws across the country. We hope to break the hold of the two party duopoly on our electoral process by helping place as many third party and independent candidates on the ballot in 2010 as possible through lobbying, petitioning, recall, and referendum efforts. Our Campaign for Ballot Access will begin the day after Inauguration Day. Stay tuned as more is sure to come. Please feel free to visit our website-in-progress at www.freeandequal.org

.

Warmest Regards,
Christina Tobin
