It’s like November here at Independent Political Report, with the results from Burlington and Illinois rolling in. The results from Illinois’ special congressional primary are available at:
http://www.chicagoelections.com/dm/general/SummaryReport.pdf
At the time of posting this, 404 out of 486 precincts have been counted. The Green primary results are (so far):
Alan Augustson (NOTE: Augustson dropped out of the race) 47 12.05%
Mark Arnold Fredrickson 57 14.62%
Deb Leticia Gordils 128 32.82%
Matt Reichel 133 34.10%
Simon Ribeiro 25 6.41%
Total 390

Someone needs to tell Matt Reichel to start updating his blog. I mean, if he doesn’t have an update for him winning the primary, what will he post one for?
Steven,
I know that GP votes increased in this primary, compared to 2008, by 250%.
How much did the GP put into GOTV for their primary?
How many MORE Green voters (or fewer) are there than the GP already was aware of?
How much free media did the GP get compared to the republicans (this being a heavily dem district, comparisons to the dems are irrelevant, IMHO)?
Finally, how much did the individual candidates spend on their campaigns? This is probably the best indicator of GP GOTV spending.
PEACE
For those wanting to put the “anal” into analysis:

Reichel up by 2% with 99% reporting. I agree with the 5th district voters that he was the best candidate out of the Green Party field.
Unofficial full results from Chicago Tribune (h/t to Ronald Hardy of Green Party Watch):

Oh, those are just the precincts in the city of Chicago.
I think these are all of the suburban results, although I might be wrong again:

If he doesn’t win that will be a really awkward party tonight
149 to 136, with 456 precincts reporting. Reichel still leads
Reichel still leads, 141 to 136, with 432 precincts reporting.
It’s a close race between Deb Gordils and Matt Reichel. Reichel has a 5 vote lead with 417 precincts (85.8% of them) in.
The total voters for Republicans are over 2,000 voters and for the Dems is over 41,000 voters. Mike Quigley leads the Dems and Rosanna Pulido leads the Republicans.
