From Jim Rash, Chair of the Libertarian Party of Delaware:The Libertarian Party of Delaware is proud to announce that Gwendolyn (Wendy) Jones will run for the 19th Senate District in the special election to be held August 3rd on the Libertarian Party ticket. Wendy is looking forward to representing the people of the 19th District and bringing a new spirit of liberty to Legislative Hall.
An active member of the Libertarian Party for almost 20 years, Wendy is a member of the LPD Executive Committee and currently serves as the LPD Sussex County Secretary. She is a strong supporter of individual rights and, as a long time small business owner, will work to restore free-market entrepreneurship, creating jobs for Delawareans. Her support of the Second Amendment is evidenced by being an NRA member for about 25 years, currently holding a Life-Endowment level membership. She is also a Gun Owners of America member and she is the Delaware representative for Pink Pistols. She carries a well worn copy of the U.S. Constitution which will be her guide in Dover.
A Milton resident since 2001, Wendy has spent her spare time giving back to her community, mentoring at H.O. Brittingham Elementary School in Milton, and she is currently donating her professional driving services for Sussex County Mobility Consortium.
Wendy’s official campaign site [still somewhat skeletal] is here. Note to Wendy and Brian: first priority, frankly, is to get that donation page up. Knowing it will pale by comparison to the Demopublicans and pseudo-Demopublicans of IPOD, we can still raise a small kitty for Wendy if every registered Libertarian in the State [or even independents] would send her $25.00.
This is a short campaign (to 3 August), but it is an important one, not just for Libertarians but for the State. Are we going to play business as usual with the Delaware Way? Probably. But we could also send a message here.
Pistol Packin’ Wendy. All right! Now, if you would like to win, don’t listen to paulie. He loses everything. Hey paulie! Listen to me. Declare you support the Progressive Libertarian Alliance Strategy. Make sure everybody knows, including the godforsaken greens that you have pictures of for target practice. The people who want you to win will support you & then do some polling. You just might get some of that too! Remember, otherwise, you are going to lose so you’ve got nothing to lose…by choosing the winning strategy!
I wasn’t offering any advice, just reporting about a campaign of which I had just learned. Why ya pickin’ on me?
Just some pre-emptive pickin’.
Remember all you gun nuts, the Supreme Court has ruled that ALL Americans have the right to bear arms. That includes The Certified, like me. This issue has yet to play out in the Courts. I expect a case will come up soon where some nut decides he/she doesn’t like the results of a background check. That could be ME!
Out in the National Forest where the long arm of the law is pretty far away, I was a fair to midlin’ shot with a 30-06 and a 22 magnum revolver!
Wasn’t that Dubai-ya! Bush’s excuse in Iraq?
It was kind of hard to miss though what with the forest & all those trees.
Didn’t shoot any animals. I’d prefer my Bowie Knife for that. Kind of levels the field for them.
We here at Third Party Revolution endorse Wendy Jones in her campaign for Delaware State Senate 19th District, along with many other third party and independent candidates seeking public offices nation-wide, ranging from local to federal levels.
paulie, maybe, he had so many excuses it’s hard to know. Whichever one worked I guess.
TPR, & what strategy do you all there at TPR advocate?
& let’s not all learn the hard way not to shoot the rocks & concrete walls especially at close range. The ricochet might come right back atcha!
I also read that Hitler claimed he “preemptively” invaded Poland.
Maybe. Before the USSR would.
Iraq, Poland. Thinking pretty big of yourself, aren’t you?
Poor Wendy is going to get lost in the scuffle here.
I read somewhere that whoever mentions Hitler or Nazis first loses the argument.
Well if you want to advise Wendy that much, go ahead. I’m not stopping you.
We here at the Catholic Trotskyist Party of America disendorse Wendy Jones, along with most of the third party and independent candidates running for various offices around the land. We almost always endorse the candidates of the Democratic Party of our holy leader and messenger of God, Barack Obama. Robert, I also think that the Progressive Libertarian Alliance strategy may be good for Wendy, but you still fail to recognize the influence of religion in politics, and I am afraid that Paulie underrates this influence also. Wendy should really abandon libertarianism and endorse the fringe alliance strategy of the far left, far right and radical center, and come out in support of Catholic Trotskyism. This would give her nationwide attention, lots of media interviews, and will have people questioning the nature of ideologies and the differences between libertarianism and socialism and their various attitudes toward religion.
Since when did you endorse her?
I never endorsed here. I take “disendorsing” to mean that I specifically refuse to endorse her, ever.
DRL, where are you when we need you? We have a 1 vote, 1 vote tie as to whether to endorse Wendy of the Triumvirate. Your vote is the tiebreaker!
I think that you may want to use the term anti-endorsement. Disendorsing sounds like you endorse something and then you take it back, like the word disowning where you owned something and then now you no longer own it.
CT, by endorsing democratic party candidates you jeopardize almost all your vast cred here at IPR.
At least I am open about being a temporary supporter of the Democratic Party, while Dondero continues to claim to be a third party activist while always endorsing Republicans. As you and Don keep agreeing with me that third party candidates are destined to be losers because they don’t have the right strategies, our goals, ideology and strategies are all different, yet independent of the mainstream.
I started at TPW during the primaries, as an endorser of Obama from the beginning. I could tell that the Libertarian Party was going to have a worthless candidate, McKinney and Baldwin wouldd go nowhere, and Nader is too much to blame for the Bush bloodbath. And didn’t you say that you voted for McCain-Palin in the end? I could be wrong, though.
Postal, the letter is in the mail an hour ago [639 Rosemary Drive, Seaford DElaware 19973]!
In 1998 ‘Non Parisan’ Citizens For a Better Veterans Home’ has supported, endorsed, promoted any semi reasonable alternative proposition, and even the occasional Dem or GOP.
In 2002 we were the official ‘Abused Veterans Committee’ of the Reform Party of California, via State Chairman Jeff Rainforth and five wonderful pages on the party web site.
We are known through out the state, [illegally] barred from our first amendment rights at public meetings, and dodged by the establishment from traitor ‘Der Ahnold’ on down. Endorsements? Just google us ……
Donald, whose address is that?
That’s not a straight answer. So I guess the triumverate will make no endorsement in this election at this time. Milnes might withdraw his endorsement anyway, since it’s likely that Wendy won’t support the strategy.
CT, correct. I stated I voted for McCain/Palin. I couldn’t live with myself if I voted for Barr. Nader or McKinney possibles. Baldwin NO!, Obama -I didn’t like his obvious manipulation of the progressives to support him, knowing after the election & whoever got the dem. nomination would win, he would let the progressives down. At least McCain was a war hero & was a known, as opposed to Obama, virtually unknown.
& Obama no military background.
Obviously I didn’t like any of the choices very much. Palin isn’t even my type, physically or mentally. But we all make our own calculations.
But Robert, you don’t have any military background either (according to your autobiography on the website (and interesting section about religion, by the way)). If you are going to run for President, how can you say that a military background is important? Kwiatkowski could solve this problem for you as she is a military veteran, but I don’t think Ruwart or some of your other choices had military backgrounds.
By the way, congratulations on getting all your websites back up.
physically, i could work with that….
Wendy Jones or her campaign manager, presumably.
Lake is about to grace her with one of his letter bombs, like so…
paulie, I get the vibes from you that you would screw anything that was loose!
CT, well military background is supposed to be important in politics. But Obama has shown it is not necessary, as Billary did before him. If I had been drafted I probably would have gone to VietNam & killed and/or gotten killed. But as for a military career, I doubt it. Something would’ve happened; insubordination maybe. Something. I never would have enlisted.
