Today, Jay Sweeney officially announced his candidacy for state legislature in Pennsylvania’s 111th district as a Green. He has run a few times before, garnering as much as 17.5 percent of the vote, and he was elected as the Auditor of Falls Township in 2009. From the Wyoming County Press Examiner:
Green Party candidate Jay Sweeney announced Tuesday that he is once again running for state representative in the 111th District…
The 111th District covers parts of Susquehanna, Wayne and Wyoming counties.
Sweeney, 57, of Falls, said he was on the fence about taking on another campaign.
“The Marcellus shale is a big issue. I wasn’t going to run, but with this issue someone has to do it,” he said.
A LITTLE FURTHER NORTH AND WEST:
watch the first televised gubernatorial debate of the season [last night] ……… why it is so important that Jill is in this race. While the other candidates bickered over who was responsible for the dysfunction on Beacon Hill
it was clear that the only person on that stage who was not at fault was Jill ……… the only candidate who took on the real culprit on Beacon Hill –
the lobbyists and big corporate money that buy our elections and block the solutions that people urgently need now. Can you imagine that debate if Jill hadn’t been there?
Jay, why don’t you try PLAS?
You know you are just going to lose again.
Thanks for the Green Party news.
Amazing you can announce this late in the cycle..
Or is this for 2011…
Yes Jay, try PLAS. Or this Green Party news may turn into a Green Party great Green Party losing story, just like 99% of all of the other Green Party great Green Party candidates. Unless Arlen Specter and Rick Santorum jump to the Green Party.

Unless Arlen Specter and Rick Santorum jump to the Green Party.
LOL!
GPC, good candidates.
Too bad they are all going to lose.
Robert, yes, GPC actually did call for Arlen Spector to join the Green Party. And Lisa Murkowski. Not sure if he ever recommended Santorum.
I actually met Rick Santorum. I told him that he and Dennis Kucinich should run for President on a ticket together as part of the Fringe Alliance Strategy. He didn’t think that was a good idea.
