IPR has frequently reposted Libertarian Party blog posts, but this Libertarian Party blog post by LNC Chair Mark Hinkle is the first time I know of that LP blog has reposted word for word a post originally posted at IPR.
The post is an article written for IPR by Steve Kubby, ‘Protecting the Environment v. Defending The Constitution’, and the LP blog post even includes the footer added by yours truly.
In IPR comments on the original posting, Kubby explains, I wrote this piece specifically for IPR, because I believe the time has come to get libertarians elected to City Councils across the country. Once elected, we will have a real opportunity to restore the Constitution and uphold local control over our lives. This essay is meant to serve as a roadmap to freedom, but it is up to all of us to make that a reality.
Thanks to Mark Hinkle and LP blog for helping to spread the message.
Libertarians are stereotyped as being environmentally challenged. Kubby only reenforces this here. Even the reactionaries in Congress are environmentally friendly here. So maybe voters are interested in protecting the environment from the libertarians. There is no mandate for people to move into the pristine Tahoe region at all, let alone build & do whatever they want, as long as they have the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. But there is a mandate to protect the environment. Especially in a border area where both states might fail the environment.
The words internet or nuclear or even computer or atomic are not in the Constitution either. So what? There are a LOT of words that are NOT in the Constitution. What is that-a loophole?
Kubby makes a big deal about his candidacy-& that is ALL it is. He isn’t elected & I hope he doesn’t get elected & make a fool of himself to environmentalists.
Libertarians,
as I said previously, I have contacted Hinkle & other libertarians as well as greens about PLAS.
Evidently nobody is doing anything about it. I have not heard anything.
If you want anything to proceed with PLAS, you are going to have to make it happen YOURSELF because your party is failing you.
You try PLAS, get back to us about the outcome.
No, LP & GP try PLAS instead of politics as usual & wasting time & guaranteed losing.
Now I think I’m going down to the well tonight
and I’m going to drink till I get my fill
And I hope when I get old I don’t sit around thinking about it
but I probably will
Yeah, just sitting back trying to recapture
a little of the glory of,
well, time slips away
and leaves you with nothing mister but
boring stories of glory days
Glory days well they’ll pass you by
Glory days in the wink of a young girl’s eye
Glory days, glory days.
