Dave Schwab at Green Party Watch:
New York Green Party gubernatorial candidate Howie Hawkins has released 2 new campaign ads that will begin running on TV this week:
#2: Howie Hawkins Green New Deal – Green Party
Hawkins’ campaign needs donations as soon as possible to get these ads on the air and maximize the Green vote. If Hawkins gets at least 50,000 votes, the New York Green Party will win a ballot line for the next 4 years, making his campaign one of the most important in the nation for Green Party ballot access. The New York Green Party, and Hawkins’ campaign in particular, have seen a surge in interest after Hawkins’ performance in last week’s gubernatorial debate.
Donate to Howie Hawkins for NY Governor to help put these ads on TV and maximize the Green vote.

Dave Schwab at Green Party Watch:
Illinois Green Party gubernatorial candidate Rich Whitney was barred from participating in a League of Women Voters debate in Chicago Wednesday night, despite the fact that Whitney earned over 10% of the statewide vote in 2006, establishing the Green Party as a major party in Illinois. Whitney and a crowd of supporters protested the exclusion outside the debate venue. The previous night, Green Party US Senate candidate LeAlan Jones had also been excluded from the League of Women Voters’ debate. Watch Rich Whitney’s speech in this video from the protest:
Medill Reports published a video report from the protest.
In related news, Whitney will air ads on MSNBC and Comedy Central asking that he be included in debates:

kat, thanks for the correction. According to the law, it would be illegal for your sibling to serve as the treasurer, but not for you to do so. That’s the exact opposite of the statutes in Maryland, which are the ones I’m familiar with.
Good luck!
Wow, Texas is it’s own kingdom!
Sorry for the dose of common sense ……..
Ya gonna write your own review if you author a book or shot a movie?
ethics.state.tx.us did not take me to a list of restrictions ………..
Jeremy…actually it is perfectly legal for me to be my campaign treasurer. Check Texas Ethics Code on ethics.state.tx.us
and yeah it was the end of a long day and was unrehearsed….thanks for the feedback

Sooooooooooooo many main stream and alternative types just make it up as they go along. They obviously do not feel that the rules, made by the Establishment Duopoly for sure, do not apply to them!

Someone needs to tell kat swift that it’s illegal to serve as your own campaign treasurer.
Regarding the ads: I really liked the first Hawkins ad. Whitney has a great TV presence — I just don’t understand why he filmed that ad in front of a playground (since there’s no obvious reason, it makes him appear kinda skeezy). I like kat swift a lot, but I’ve heard her perform a lot better than she does in that ad — she needed to rehearse a bit more. As for the Wells ad, if I wanted to watch a PowerPoint presentation, I’d go to a conference.
