LFA PAC launches Granite State fundraiser

Liberty For America, a political action committee dedicated to supporting Libertarian Party candidates, is focusing its last-minute efforts on ballot access and major party status for the LP in New Hampshire.

From a fundraising letter sent to targeted lists of Libertarian Party supporters:

In 2012, do you want a LIBERTARIAN Presidential Primary, with national coverage held in New Hampshire? Help New Hampshire Libertarians get major party status, and we’ll have our primary.

How? This year, New Hampshire Libertarians need just 4% of the total votes for their U.S. Senate candidate, Ken Blevens, to become a full party, and gain statewide ballot access, and guarantee a statewide primary in 2012.

In 2008, Ken had 3.1% of the vote. This year, the Republican is ten points ahead by most polls. Ten points means few voters will think a Libertarian vote is a wasted vote. Ken is the only solid pro-freedom candidate for that seat.

Can Ken get to 4%? That’s where we come in. We’re Liberty for America, the country’s Libertarian Federal PAC. We’re your chance to win a New Hampshire Libertarian Presidential Primary.

Our Facebook ads are already reaching a half-million New Hampshire Facebook users. AdWords ads are ready to go and waiting for your donation.

I am pleased to report that we are up to 3.3 million Facebook impressions, sending to New Hampshire voters messages Vote Libertarian and Ken Blevens for U.S. Senate.

The Adwords campaign is being recalcitrant at the launch phase, through difficulties at the AdWords end. We hope to get them showing soon.

As I type, the Google AdWords Ad campaign ads are being approved. We’re running ads like the following, within our budget constraints. You marketing geniuses can suggest more; note that there are tight character count limits.

    @10,
Start small, run for town council. Or State legislature. Nobody will vote for a candidate with no real qualifications or experience.

Will someone start a website anti-Pauls contributions?
Trying for 35 million given to it instead of The Pauls to be given to the most viable third party/independent 2012 campaign.

  5. Catholic Trotskyist October 14, 2010

Yes, PLAS can work. It has an even better chance of working if both sides agree to stay away from religious social issues like abortion, and develop some strong and consistent economic compromises. There is still some time to do it. I am disappointed that Charlie Crist didn’t endorse PLAS even though I was in contact with someone in his campaign who said he may be interested. I am working in whatever way I can to help PLAS, but I have limited resources too.

  6. Robert Milnes October 14, 2010

Another reason to invest in PLAS rather than The Pauls. 35 million is paulnuts to the reactionary parties therefore not really very competitive. But I guarantee 35 million contributed to a third party/independent presidential campaign will make that candidate VERY competitive.
Just that fact would get MSM.

  7. Derek October 14, 2010

I’ve been wondering for some time now about the following. 35 million greens is quite a lot of money. I remember when Ventura won the Governorship of MN in ’98 with a shoestring budget. 35 million for an independent/third party ticket can go a long way. Aiming for the states with 3 or 4 electors is ideal to start.

  8. Robert Milnes October 14, 2010

As far as what certain others have said against PLAS-well, they are wrong.
I’m quite certain it can work & am confident that if it gets a fair try, it will work.
    That is what I say.

  9. Robert Milnes October 14, 2010

Dennis, I have & I am trying to continue to do so.
I’m broke, depressed & virtually alone & in credit card debt. My landlord stopped by & bitched today. I have a leak I can’t fix myself in the bathroom. I have a faulty circuit breaker. ETC. Send me 35 million instead of gop/reactionary, nationalistic, theocratic counterrevolutionary dinosaur prick Ron Paul & his like father like son son. & I’ll do better, OK?
& root OUT Root while you are at it.

  10. Dennis October 14, 2010

    @ 2,

You have dedicated the entirety of almost every one of your posts to PLAS, despite the fact others have frequently pointed out why such a strategy would likely have little, if any, real impact on an election. If you want to promote PLAS, make a website and do so.

  11. Robert Milnes October 14, 2010

We need for the LP & GP to call a joint press conference for PLAS. ASAP. There is still a possibility of winning a few elections in 2010 thereby setting up a possible clean sweep out of dems & treps reactionaries in 2012.
People like Tom K. & paulie eats too much stromboli have been getting a free pass for not endorsing PLAS or ANY ATTEMPT to try something different in order to avoid inevitible mass losses in 2010.
If you want to lose, just let politics as usual play out. If you want to try to win you must DEMAND the LP & GP move IMMEDIATELY.

The government of the United States of America is on a power crusade, taking every opportunity it can to deprive its citizens of their resources and control over their own lives and seem to be intent on imposing on them endless rules and regulations.

These are, I am convinced, true believers in state fundamentalism: Every problems must be solved by means of expanded government, both in size and, especially, in scope.

So how can I believe it when the government declares that there is increasing danger around us, all of which seems routinely to require that government gain greater and greater power over us?
