Green Party in Apparent Decline

This article began as a comparison of Green and Libertarian Party spending and income patterns. Greens seem to be thrifty and efficient in their spending. Where do they spend their money?

What instead became apparent is the that Green Party, or at least their national operation, is in serious decline.

Total receipts, 2002 $496,944.69
Total receipts, 2003 $497,255.76
Total receipts, 2004 $464,791.25
Total receipts, 2005 $338,949.44
Total receipts, 2006 $332,752.28
Total receipts, 2007 $362,865.20
Total receipts, 2008 $413,499.54
Total receipts, 2009 $357,152.82

And now the bus goes off the cliff:
Total receipts so far, 2010 $203,006.85

It’s interesting that the Greens also have more electable candidates now than in the past two years (and probably earlier than that, although I can’t say for sure). The national party is somewhat irrelevant for the Greens.

I’d have to agree. Under the administration of the Green Politics Network and their allies from 1996 to the present, the national GP has never been the viable progressive/ecologival party that some of the state parties are or have been (seems like the CA state party, which was once the leading star among the GP state parties, is at present nearly moribund).

Thanks to their web site coordinators, they fought off coordinating with the USA Parliament, Inc., starting back in 1995.

It just shows, trying to get ahead by fighting against those trying to work together under pure proportional representation (PR) and votes cast as proof, is self defeating.

But the national Green Party isn’t the only one to resist pure PR.

… in your case mr magooooogle, what they are all trying to resist isn’t pure PR …

    … it’s pure BS .

Lets just say the GP at the National Level has done some things that have turned people off to giving them money. Now I give to specific Green candidates and my local and State Green organizations.
