David Cobb To Visit Macalester College

David Cobb will be speaking at Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota on April 6th at 7:30 PM. The discussion will focus upon finding ways to reverse ‘corporate personhood’, with a focus on the recent Supreme Court case Citizens United v FEC.

Multiple organizations are c0-sponsoring the event, including Common Cause Minnesota,  Macalester Public Interest Research Group [MPIRG], Citizens for Election Integrity Minnesota, and the Minnesota Unitarian Universalist Social Justice Alliance [MUUSJA]. Several of these groups have also done work on ranked choice voting, an issue of prominence in the third party community.

In 2004, Cobb ran for President on the Green Party line, winning about 0.1% of the vote. He is now an organizer with  Move to Amend, an organization endorsed by the Green Party of the United States working to repeal corporate personhood.

You can find a Facebook page for the event here.

[Full disclosure: I am helping with this event through Macalester MPIRG].
