I list a show 5 times…because it’s 5 separate interviews
Allow me to offer some friendly advice. Instead of listing the same show multiple times to indicate multiple appearances, put a notation next to the show indicating the number of appearances. It would clear up any misunderstandings or confusion.
Darryl
Wayne, I think that is a very clear statement that should clear up any subsequent misunderstandings. Thank you!
@26
I list a show 5 times…because it’s 5 separate interviews.
I was on Bill Cunningham’s show maybe 25 times in past year. I’ve been on Rita Cosby’s show 10 times in past 2 weeks. I do Captain’s America Show every week. I do Big Biz Show every week.
Got it now?
Wayne
Wayne, here’s the question people are asking, I think: when you are on a show five times, is it five separate interviews or five different broadcasts of the same show? Frankly, it doesn’t matter all that much to me, because either way you’re reaching five different markets, but I think that’s what people are curious about.
Bruce,
You never need to delete “repeats.” There are no “repeats” as in mistakes. I’m on nationally syndicated Rita Cosby Show right now. It must be the 12th time I’ve been on her show in a month. When I list 5 appearances or 10…it’s because I’ve been on the same show 5 or 10 times!
I’m also back on “The Bill Cunningham Show” on Thursday in Cincinnati and nationally on Sunday.
Wayne
I deleted a lot of repeats, thinking it was an editing error. Perhaps for those complaining that Wayne is somehow exaggerating his staggering succes at getting the word “Libertarian” on the air, I must have cut his list by 3/4 compared to what I read in the Press Release from Wayne. Geez. Anyone else out there on the air?
Cunningham also dyed his hair for the gig!
Willie has quite the “Face” for television!
Yes, the tv show is a mixture of Springer, Dr. Phil, and Maury. I think Willie needs to focus on politics and less about “husbands who pimp out their wives” or whatever is the “mess of the day”.
Hi Wayne – that’s what I wondered re: the radio appearances, particularly on those like Cunningham’s that are both local and national. I know that local interviews on our local sports-talk station often show up later on the national network. You’re very good at getting your message out!
@17…The reason there are “duplicates” is because I appear on most media multiple times a month…often weekly…sometimes 2 or more times a week.
It’s something the LP needs to understand…when you get invited back again and again it’s a sign of success. That’s a very good thing!
Wayne
Hi Kevin –
Someone asked how Mr. Root had the time to do all these appearances and still run a business or three. I suggested that many of the appearances or editorials are duplicates of one another, that there was nothing wrong with that, that Root should be commended for his outreach, and that all might explain the time question that had been asked. Darryl took the time (which I didn’t) to count up how many might be duplicates. No one really made any point – it was (at least for me) an effort to provide a possible answer to a semi-serious question raised in the very first comment.
I grew up just north of Dayton, and listened to Cunningham off and on for years. It’s kind of sad to see him move to TV and descend to stuff that only aspires to be Maury Povich. 🙁
@17
Someone asked how many of the listed appearances were duplicate – I listed the one’s that were obvious duplicates.
@ 13 . So what is your point?
WAR is on Willie’s syndicated show about every other Sunday evening– since about late last year. And he has the same show or a new one for the local Cincinnati Willie show about once or twice a month. WLW 50,000 clear-channel station that covers a lot of ground in Ohio and well beyond.
I should know this, since I introduced them for the first time back in 2010.
Here’s what the Ripoff Report says about Wealth Masters: http://www.ripoffreport.com/home-based-business/wealth-masters-wealt/wealth-masters-wealth-masters-7p33m.htm
Others have observed that Root has the air of a huckster about him: http://shakaama.blogspot.com/2010/04/wayne-allyn-root-selfish-crooked-and.html
Yes, Root is good at getting on the media. But all that proves is that the media thinks he’ll attract viewers. It doesn’t mean that viewers like, trust, or are influenced by Root. They could be watching for laughs, or out of morbid curiosity.
Interesting, Peter Schiff is speaking tonight at University of CA Irvine, and tomorrow at UCLA.
Given the difficulty of Los Angeles traffic, it would be difficult to make either one. I just thought I’d mention it to anyone living in Los Angeles or Orange county.
tk, yes, Nov. 3, in fact. Schiff has not gotten the Bob Wallace treatment…
rc@12,
I’m pretty sure I’ve noticed stuff by Schiff at LRC in the last week or two.
@7, @ 12,
I don’t seen any problem with counting multiple iterations of the same material (e.g. a column that appears in the Washington Times and also the Chicago Tribune) as separate items. It makes sense. When one of the columns we write at C4SS appears in JoongAng Ilbo (South Korea), the New Age (Bangladesh), the Baltic Review (eastern Europe) and the Snohomish, Washington Herald, we’re pretty obviously reaching four different audiences.
@7
“Captain’s America Show with Matt Bruce” is listed 3 times
“The Bill Cunningham Show” is listed 5 times (3 times as “Nationally syndicated, twice as Cincinnati, OH)
“The Bob “Sully” Sullivan Show KOGO AM San Diego, CA (3 times)
“The Captain’s America Show” Nationally Syndicated (3 times)
“The Jayne Carroll Show” KUIK AM Portland, OR (twice)
“The Rita Cosby Show” (twice Nationally Syndicated, once WOR NY)
“Washington Times Radio Show” Nationally Syndicated (4 times)
Wayne’s Commentary in Washington Times (twice)
Wayne’s Commentary on IPR.com (twice)
Wayne’s Commentary on ROOTforAmerica.com (3 times)
tk, no, I think yer right, I’ve seen no evidence that Root and Schiff do business. I do seem to vaguely recall some political short-term alliance between them. Both Root and Schiff have said positive things about Cain.
The LRCers were displeased with Schiff on that one. Whether Schiff is now persona non grata with the Rothbardians, I dunno…
RC@6,
I wouldn’t read anything ideological into business relationships between Celente and Root (and Schiff if that’s the case — I don’t know if it is).
Schiff and Celente both make their money predicting market moves for investors.
That’s something Root has been trying to transition to from his previous career of predicting sports outcomes for bettors (for example, he hosted the Dollar Summit for Newsmax, pretty obviously a move to position himself and get known in that arena).
If you read Root’s autobiography, you’ll see that he historically looks at who is doing well at what he wants to do well, then tries to learn from them, associate with them, and surpass them. Not a bad strategy.
In their day, LNC members Bill Evers and Murray Rothbard had columns and articles published widely. Shel Richman did too, and
Bumper Hornberger, and Harry Browne and Karl Hess. Maybe the national office should be lining up media appearances for the more stellar thinkers in the Party?
Whoops – forgot the link:
http://www.agereversalinc.com/wp-stage/
Here’s a link to the company above… you have to read another language (Latin?) to fully benefit… it’s interesting how many of the people the company relies upon receive(d) significant governement research funding and are/were in some cases government employees. I don’t see this as a bad thing – I think this is a legitimate role for government, but I know others may disagree.
I’m wondering how many of the appearances/articles above are duplicates. For instance, if one editorial appears in three publications, that’s three exposures alhough only one article was written. The same could easily be true for shows like Bill Cunningham’s that are both local and syndicated nationally – one interview can count as more than one interview.
This isn’t a criticism. While I disagree with Mr. Root on many things, I think he does a good job of media outreach. It’s just a possible answer to the time question above.
Although I’m certainly no Root-a-phobe, I do note that he associates with people like Celente and I think Schiff. Schiff and Celente were getting a fair amount of play from the LRC crowd, although they seem to be getting less in recent months. Schiff especially has I think been written off the reservation for saying nice things about Cain. Root was long ago was identified as “no friend” of LRC (as I recall), which I took as code for “enemy.”
What’s it all mean? Dunno. I guess these titans of right-Lism compete and cooperate. There is no identifiable center L-ism, and left-Ls have tended to spin off toward overt anarchism.
In this sense, I think the LRC crowd becomes the de facto leadership of left-Ls, even though their tone is generally rightist, often almost hard rightist.
It’s all still quite murky. The brand is unsettled. At the moment, Ron Paul is the brand, but that won’t last much longer…
Root is libertarian at times.
Age Reversal, Inc.?
Did Wayne discover the fountain of youth?
This could really hurt sales for my business, Post-mortem Travel Agency, Ltd. selling trips to Heaven for after-life travelers.
@2,
Root is President of Cool Hand Root Television, LLC.
He’s listed in an SEC filing as a director of Age Reversal, Inc.
He’s also co-publisher (with Kip Herriage and Gerald Celente) of the “Crashproof Prosperity Investment Newsletter.”
He’s involved — or has been involved in the past — with some other businesses, including Wealth Masters International (a multi-level marketing training company which according to Wikipedia was recently shut down as a pyramid scheme in Norway) and at least at one time CarbonCopyPro (a feeder program for WMI).
What are his businesses?
The only Root business I ever heard of was the one where his boiler room employees offered gambling advice to callers.
How does he have time to be a small businessman employing all those people with real jobs?
