Edit from Paulie: Sheldon Richman and Jacob Hornberger were both formerly prominent activists in the Libertarian Party, although as far as I know neither one is associated with that party anymore.

Yes, and Richman was on the LNC at one time as well, IIRC.

Hornberger was a LNC member in the past. He also unsuccessfully sought the LP presidential nomination against Harry Browne.

Sometimes I think it’s okay to cover small ‘l’ libertarians, as long as we don’t do it too often.

Yes, but I like to try to find a party/candidate connection if I can think of one.

Well, IPR is intended to cover “third parties and independent candidates.”

Bumper and Sheldon are representative of the most routinely successful perennial independent candidate in American history: None Of The Above.

Thanks, Mark. I agree that they’re tremendous assets to our movement.

It’s a little tricky to post them here because I don’t know how closely they associate themselves with the Libertarian Party, and this blog is inteneded to cover third parties. Sometimes I think it’s okay to cover small ‘l’ libertarians, as long as we don’t do it too often.

Both Sheldon and “Bumper” have been tremendous contributors to the liberty movement, particularly with FFF and FEE.

Until the end of last year, Sheldon was the Editor of the Freeman.

We are fortunate to have such strong voices for freedom as theirs have been for the last twenty years.
