Every year during Memorial Day weekend the people who run our government repeat the same glowing stories about the glories of war and the heroes who “fight for our freedoms” even though it’s difficult to find wars in America’s history that were really about fighting for our freedoms rather than fighting for conquest.
The greatest threat to our freedoms is, in fact, the very people who run this country.
Every year, in the hopes of reminding people what war and freedom are actually all about in the real world Dallas Libertarian Examiner refers its readers to this article, first published in 2011.

Dallas Freelance photographer Roger Young sent this Memorial Day video link to the Dallas Libertarian Examiner along with this simple note:
“Back in 2005, LewRockwell.com published an essay of mine about Memorial Day called ‘Remember.’ I just completed a slideshow based around that essay and thought you might like to view it.”
The original essay was published by Strike the Root and Lew Rockwell.
