June 26, 2013 – The Libertarian Party of California congratulates marriage equality activists who have worked hard to ensure that our laws protect the rights of all citizens equally. With equal treatment under law in marriage in California effectively affirmed by the Supreme Court’s multiple rulings, perhaps we can begin the next movement to free all citizens from the overarching tyranny of state-licensed personal relationships.
To my knowledge, this is the first statement of any kind issued by the CA LP during Kevin Takenaga’s tenure. I’m very pleased that they used the opportunity to get our name out there, positively associated with the cause of marriage equality.
