IPR received the following statement from the Libertarian Party of Ohio. Note that it references a resignation letter that IPR has not seen.
As chairman of the Libertarian Party of Ohio Central Committee, I regretfully accepted the unexpected and voluntary resignation of Michael Johnston Saturday, Aug. 17 from his various positions with the LPO, including his posts as central committee vice chair and member from District 12(A), and as at-large member of our executive committee.
Mr. Johnston was one of the most talented, energetic, and productive members in the history of our party, and an integral reason why the LPO is universally considered to be one of the best organized and most effective Libertarian state parties in the country. We are grateful for the legacy of liberty that Mr. Johnson leaves, and we will continue to serve as a positive example and willing ally to Libertarian organizations everywhere.
It is unfortunate that Mr. Johnston’s resignation letter—which he appears to have been distributed widely—made use of several vague, yet inflammatory, implications of wrongdoing or incompetence on the part of the LPO and its members that have no basis whatsoever in fact. In particular, Mr. Johnston’s allegation the LPO violated our bylaws in any way is entirely false.
In spite of Mr. Johnston’s perplexing comments, we unreservedly thank him for his contributions to our party, and we wish him the best in any and all pursuits in the service of which he wishes to lend his estimable skills.
Scott Pettigrew, of Warren County, was elected the new LPO Central Committee vice chairman. Nathan Eberly, of Wood County, was elected to fill the at-large vacancy on the LPO Executive Committee. Bob Bridges, of Franklin County, is now the sole convention chairman for the 2014 LPO Convention.
My central committee colleagues have instructed me to be the sole spokesman for the LPO concerning this matter. If any concerned parties have questions, they should be directed to me, and I will be as informative as I can while confining my remarks to questions of fact only.

I sent Michael a message on FB yesterday asking if he’d like to share his letter. I haven’t heard back from him.
No news yet.
Has anyone seen a copy of the letter?
Ohio law for all political parties. There is a Central Committee and then there is an Executive Committee. The E.C. runs daily operations. Their web site lays it all out.
I thought he resigned last year. Or was that just from the LSLA?
This story also indicates (from the signature) that Ohio has a new chair. I don’t remember reading about that.
@1 I couldn’t find it. If someone else can find it please post here.
I suspect that the accusations probably have more truth to them than the LP of Ohio would care to admit.
Mr. Johnston’s resignation from the LSLA appeared to be spot on.
Has anyone outside Ohio seen this letter from Johnston yet?
