Earlier today the Progressive Party of Vermont posted the following on their Facebook Page, “Some folks are getting pretty excited about the idea of VT’s own independent Senator Bernie Sanders running for President. What do you think, is it time to “draft Bernie?” Followed by a link to a Facebook Page titled “Draft Bernie” dedicated to drafting Independent Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders for president in 2016. The page has, as of right now, 140 likes. (Note that the page has only been active for a few hours.)
After checking out the page’s about me section I found a link to a website dedicated to this effort to draft Senator Sanders. (see here) The website is currently still under construction as I write this piece, but you can subscribe for e-mail notifications.
The group heading this effort has also created a twitter account for the project which you can locate here.
Seems like a big government guy on too many issues.
Darn, he seems like the go to guy, except, he’s a career politician and we’ve had enough of those. That being said, to date he’s the most promising one I’ve seen. Most likely he has my vote.
The presidents we have had, including the current one, are corporatists, not socialists.
It would be interesting to have an admitted Socialist as President, as opposed to the closeted ones we had since 2000.
I doubt he reads IPR, although you never know.
I will wholeheartedly support you for president. Voting for Republicans or Democrats is a waste of time. Once they get in power, they basically do the exact same thing, which is to run up the U.S. debt, start invasive wars, astronomically overspend on the military, spy on us and everyone else, give themselves and govt. employees huge raises in pay, talk a lot on social issues and do little. We need you Bernie!
