Between 75-85 attendees. Business session today saw a few more candidates nominated, so I think we’re up to 43 or 44 total.
There were 5 board positions up for election and after $3000 in pledges if the entire board was filled, people stepped up for all of them. This is the first time I know of where all the state board positions have been filled, plus the party got $3000 to boot.
More really good speakers today in the afternoon, though I was filling out elections paperwork so I didn’t get to go to those sessions.

Tatiana is of course from the fine state of New York where she has performed at LPNY and Manhattan LP events many times before (and Gary Johnson heard her sing at the Ukrainian East Village Restaurant in January 2012 while patiently waiting for his turn to speak after her performance).
I love that Tatiana plays so much Dylan, both live and on her two CD’s.

I’d have picked the LP Convention in Colorado this year over California as well, if only for the chance to meet Ben Swann, who, in my opinion, is one of the best news journalists in the country.

Day 2 starts in a little more than an hour. The banquet last night was excellent. Gary Johnson’s speech was much more passionate than previous speeches of his I’ve seen. After his banquet speech, Tatiana Moroz’s performance was excellent.

Now listening to Evan McMahon of the LNCC do a campaign strategy Q&A with a number of our newly nominated candidates.
Mark Slaugh from iComply just finished a great talk on marijuana in Colorado post-legalization entitled, “Legalizing Marijuana, Liberating Markets.”
Listening to Billy Johnson, from the NRA video blog Amidst the Noise, give a talk entitled, “The Most Dangerous Weapon of All: Fear.” I spoke with him last night and he seems to come to the gun rights issue from a much more socially liberal and libertarian perspective than I traditionally associate with the NRA.
