The Socialist Party has prioritized anti-war work as one of our priorities for the 2014-15 period and we encourage you to take part in our on-going activities.
Each local should have regular anti-war work planned, and we encourage you to share your ideas and elect a representative to SPUSA anti-war bodies.
Anti-Imperialism Committee: The Party’s Anti-Imperialism Committee (AIC) was created by the National Committee as a place where local and state organization can coordinate anti-war work and share strategies. Each local or state organization must send the name and contact information of your AIC rep to the National Office to added to the AIC and AIC list-serve/phone conferences.
The Anti-Imperialism Committee Chair is Brandon Collins.

Anti-War Commission: The Party’s Anti-War Commission was chartered to help serve as a an area where all Party members can discuss and contribute ideas on anti-war work. The Commission is empowered to draft policy statements for consideration of the National Committee and National Action Committee.

May 29th (weekly): Charlottesvile (VA) Peace Vigil – 5:00 pm Join SP-CVA and the Charlottesville Center for Peace and Justice for our weekly demonstration against war and for peace! Every Thursday (for over 15 years) at 5 pm in front of the Federal Building on the corner of McIntire and West Main– bring a sign or use one of ours!
May 31st (weekly): Socialist Party of Monmouth & Ocean Counties Vigil – 5:00 pm outside of the former Fort Monmouth(Eatontown entrance) for our weekly anti-war demonstration, which has been going on every Saturday for over a decade. I saw some irony in this, although in Los Angeles, there are alway plenty of socialists who show up at Anti-war rallies.
Does anyone else find it ludicrous for a political party, whose fundamental premise is perpetual war of the collective on the individual, considers itself “anti-war”?
