Good point, Nicholas. I remember that he talked about being an attorney.

BTW, my flier from last night spells “Glenn” with two “n”s in it.

Greenwald used to practice as litigation attorney. It’s been known to make people better speakers.

    Or so I’ve heard.

Well, there is a lot to be said for meeting someone who has accomplished something outside of the Republican or Democratic Parties, whether I agree with the accomplishment or not. I’d be very happy to meet this young lady, as I was to meet Jill Stein at the United We Stand Fest last month.

It happens that Glenn Greenwald gave a speech in Los Angeles last night, and I was lucky enough to attend the event. It was well worth my time. He talked about Edward Snowden, their initial meeting, and his understanding of Snowden’s motives. He was quite funny a few times. He was quite an engaging speaker, and I wonder how many other journalists are good at speaking as well as being good at writing.

For example, he referred to the news anchors, and so on, on the major media outlets as “actors”, which, now that I think about it, is quite accurate.

What the takeaway for me was: Greenwald speaks of people with utmost respect for their individuality and privacy without any “but…” coming with some kind of disclaimer. It was quite refreshing.
