Nevada Libertarians announce convention results

Press Release via LPNevada email:

Libertarian Party of Nevada held its annual convention last weekend and received a significant increase of phone calls, emails and social media messages inquiring about joining the Party.

LAS VEGAS, Nevada, June 5, 2015The Libertarian Party of Nevada(LPNevada), the fastest growing political party in Nevada (and the only party which supports individual freedom, personal responsibility, free markets, lower taxes, and smaller government), announced its 2015 State Convention results. It has also received an unprecedented number of inquiries from upset Nevadans.

Last weekend in conjunction with LPEX 2015, the Libertarian Political Expo, LPNevada held its 2015 State Convention. LPNevada members attended training from some of the top political experts in the United States including, but not limited to; American Majority, Turning Point USA, The Leadership Institute, The Pacific Legal Foundation, Nevada Policy Research Institute, NationBuilder.com, and Democracy.com. LPNevada also passed the following Resolution:

BE IT RESOLVED that the members of the Libertarian Party of Nevada ally with positions, not politicians. We shall work with anyone willing to work with us towards advancing each of our issues on an individual basis, regardless of party affiliation, and shall work against those same people when they choose to advance issues that are contrary to ours.

The Executive Committee election results are as follows;

  • Chairman: Brett H. Pojunis
  • Vice-Chairman: Jason G. Smith
  • Secretary: Piper Kassela
  • Treasurer: Tim Hagan
  • Northern Rep: David Colborne
  • Southern Rep: Candy Nickens
  • At-Large: Jason Weinman
  • At-Large: Frank Kassela
  • At-Large: Steve Brown

LPNevada has been contacted by a large number of Nevadans who want to get involved with the Libertarian Party in roles from volunteering, to financial support, to running for office. The majority of the inquiries are a result of the policies enacted during the 2015 legislative session. Nevadans are extremely upset with decisions made to expand government, increase taxes, strip civil liberties and increase surveillance on Nevadans. “I have personally received a large number of phone calls from my GOP friends who are very disappointed with the Republican controlled government,” said LPNevada Chairman Brett H. Pojunis. “It doesn’t matter if Democrats or Republicans are in charge, the government keeps growing and the biggest victim continues to be business owners. We (Libertarians) hope Nevada voters will consider the Libertarian Party as a viable option going into the next election cycle.”
