United States Attorney General William Ramsey Clark will be gracing Free & Equal Election Foundation’s United We Stand Festival stage as the keynote speaker on September 19th 2015 at the Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles, California. He will be standing in place of the Civil Rights leader Amelia Boynton Robinson, who passed away on August 26, 2015. As a life-long activist and former government official for progressives such as President John F. Kennedy and President Lyndon B. Johnson, former Attorney General Ramsey Clark will continue to share the fearless grand legacy of social activism lead by Ms. Boynton-Robinson.
Mother Amelia, best known for her civil rights activism and leading Martin Luther King Jr. to the March on Selma, sparked a social revolution towards wider support of civil liberties and rights. In burgeoning social awareness, Ms. Boynton-Robinson and her civil rights activist counterparts lead the White House towards laws such as the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and the Civil Rights Act of 1968, both of which Ramsey Clark helped draft and pass.
Ramsey Clark continues to lead the United States and the world, serving as a socially progressive lawyer as well as an activist. He is recognized for his critiques of the War on Terror, NATO’s unjust bombing of countries, and other social atrocities such as the Gulf War. While best known for standing as Defense Attorney for Slabodan Milsevic and Saddam Hussein, Ramsey Clark continues his firm commitment to a just and honest world. Notably, he was a recipient of the 1992 Gandhi Peace Award, and the Peace Abbey Courage of Conscience Award for his commitment to civil rights. These awards place him in the realm of greatness with other recipients, such as Pete Seeger, Mother Teresa, and the XIV Dalai Lama of Tibet. As a man who has based his career on justice and social equality, former US Attorney General Ramsey Clark represents many of the core ideals celebrated at the United We Stand Fest: equality, social activism and consciousness, and love of freedom!

I kind of dropped the ball because I’ve been so busy on my new business, which finally went online last Monday. I’ve also been waiing for some videos to come out. I’ll see if I can find any.
Christina sent me a link to all five hours on video, but I don’t know how to edit it. Again, this is my failing.

Yes, it seemed to be a live broadcast. Apparently Dr. Stein WAS there. I’m trying to find some videos of the event. Mine of the Judge Gray/Richard Winger segment didn’t come out well at all.

I have video of the Judge Gray/ Richard Winger talk, but I have no idea what it will look at. I do think someone videotaped everything. I’ll definitely try tio get some videos.
Jed, I don’t know that USWS will continue. There was poor attendance, both for talent/speakers, and for guests.
We did enjoy ourselves, though! I just think the event cost quite a bit for the return Christina got.
I did have a chance to talk with Richard Winger for a few minutes.
I have a big outing today for my job, but I’ll write something up this evening.

Ramsy Clark wasn’t there. Neither was Jill Stein (I think. We left about half an hour early).

The WWP is part of the alternative party movement.
Everyone deserves a defense (even Hussein & Milosevic).
Ramsey Clark was never part of the WWP.
He is principled in his consistent opposition to foreign interventions. His zealous legal defense of Saddam Hussein, Slobodan Milosevic, and others is admirable.
Ramsay Clark was Attorney-General under President Lyndon Johnson during theVietnam War. He had the Justice Department investigate antiwar groups and individuals associated with the peace movement.
Since then he has built a second career as a front man for the neo-Stalinist Workers World Party, and as head of the International Action Center, allied with the WWP.
As a lawyer, he has defended Lyndon Larouche, Saddam Hussein, and Karl Linnas, tried for his role as a Concentration Camp commander during the Third Reich.
I do not see merit in identifying the alternative party/open elections movement with Ramsay Clark.
Since when was JFK a progressive?
Certainly that term is applicable to unprincipled LBJ and principled Ramsey Clark, but Kennedy was an ardent anti-Communist (anyone remember the Bay of Pigs) and tax-cutter.
Something is amiss in Camelot.
Ramsey Clark is a principled and admirable man.
