Jordan Hansen, 21, a lifelong Oshkosh resident, made the announcement late Thursday afternoon in Opera House Square.
“It’s time somebody stands up against two-party politics, cronyism and corruption in government,” Hansen said, noting what he called a recent resurgence in the number of Libertarian candidates nationwide. “It’s unlikely many or any will win, but being in the public eye gives me a platform.
“My ability to succeed in this race depends on whether the Republicans run a candidate,” he said. “This is a hostile district for Republicans, and given the opportunity to face Gordon Hintz one-on-one, I think I can win.”
