Constitution Party: Honoring the Declaration of Independence

The following Independence Day message was published on the Constitution Party’s website on July 4th, 2016:

Honoring the Declaration of Independence

4 July 2016

240 years ago, 56 men laid their lives, fortunes and sacred honor on the line for Liberty, after having exhausted all their political options.  In 2016, Americans wonder if we live in a time, “When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them.”

Ask yourself this question:  has the current political establishment lived up to the hope and promise of the Declaration of Independence?   How do you feel about the level of taxation in our nation?  How do you feel about the militarization of local law enforcement?  How do you feel about the Patriot Act, which both major political parties supported and passed?   All of these things, and much more, violate not only the spirit of the Declaration but also the letter of the law embodied in the Constitution. Take time to read and ponder the Declaration of Independence sometime this week. Its application to today’s situation is astounding.

“I believe if President Garfield were here today, he would admonish us to declare our independence from political parties, powers and leaders that obviously do not represent our values. When we continue to support, or affiliate with such entities, we become parties to, and responsible for, the ignorance, recklessness and corruption that we authorize by our vote.”

We hope you will ponder the Declaration of Independence and enjoy these two articles, then consider today’s situation.

We cannot have true political independence without equal ballot access for all candidates. The fight for open ballot access for all candidates is the political rights battle of the 21st Century. Without a free marketplace of ideas on the ballot, the people have no opportunity to make a true choice. 

To declare our independence from the two party duopoly, we need to raise $47,000 by the end of July to get us on enough state ballots to potentially win the electoral College.  Each state has its own rules and regulations, some easier than others.  None of them demand the same requirements of the two parties in control.  United as Constitutionists we can overcome these obstacles by sacrificing our time, our resources, and by standing for the principles upon which America was founded.

Time is of the essence!  We must act now to provide a Constitutional Conservative candidate for the people in November.   Listen to this recording by Darrell Castle then join our July Ballot Access Drive here through the campaign or here through the national website.  Either way your donation will go towards the effort to gather signatures to get the Castle/Bradley campaign on the ballot across the nation.  Check our progress and find your state ballot access coordinator here.
