Messages from Caryn Ann Harlos to LNC regarding historical record preservation efforts she is spearheading along with a team of volunteers:
“LPedia got a Washington Times mention
LIBERTARIANS PONDER THEIR HERITAGE
The Libertarian Party is tracing its history back to its earliest days, which is somewhere around 1972. The results: “The LPedia” — a master library for loyal and curious Libertarians that will include historical documents, archives, news accounts, training materials and more.
“This will be a huge project as we have an incomplete collection of these items in our archives and they are fragile. We’ll also have to overcome the challenges of scanning large newsprint pieces. The home for these records will be LPedia.org
collaborative, crowd-sourced history of the Libertarian Party,” advises Caryn
Ann Harlos, who is overseeing the project.
“I am getting some local CO reporters interested in this and there should be some news coverage. We will be photo-documenting Nick [Dunbar -p] coming in the UHaul and the unloading etc.”
“They are all moved in to Colorado. I am in Alaska next weekend but then will dig in. I have to sit with them for a few hours and commune with them to formulate my organization plan.”
“I also made the Life Member donation as I pledged to do if the records were moved to offset the cost as it would have cost me that in traveling to VA to manage.”
“I am away to Alaska, and then have some breaks in time. I will be
beginning the organization and inventory. I have several volunteers who
want to come from out of state and spend a week or so each on the project
and Colorado volunteers lined up. That is the organization portion….
On the digitization front, LPedia has been busy with persons adding items
from their affiliates. Liberty Pledges are going up slowly (because we
have a volunteer who is taking the time to make sure the OCR is top notch
by manually checking each item and working out the best software to use)…
all of the LP News that are already digitized are up. Old Bylaws and
Minutes are getting restored. The next major digitization project is the
old LP News which will be my first order of business after my Alaska trip.
I am shopping around with companies to find a good bid (since this is
beyond a typical volunteer capability being large size newsprint).
While the LP News are being scanned, I will be prioritizing additional
projects for volunteers and if any are needed to be done by a company.
We are obtaining a secondary server to store the large audio files and as a
secondary backup site.
That is a broad overview of where we are. Please let me know if you have
any specific questions. I anticipate I will be spending each Sat I can
down at the facility and scheduling volunteers in their schedules.”

Anyone else have an opinion on that?
“Oh, you are not a troll. Sure, that’s why you’ve posted lots of troll posts here.”
Not even one, unlike you.

That’s a form that people who would like to help with this effort can print off and take to their local meetings. I’m considering making that an article, but not sure if it will be considered noteworthy enough.”
I don’t see anything wrong with posting it as a separate article.

I’m not a troll, and it was never a secret that I use IP anonymizers so you ‘outed’ me only in your own sick mind.”

I’m not a troll, and it was never a secret that I use IP anonymizers so you “outed” me only in your own sick mind. I asked a valid question and you are the one disrupting the conversation with your sick obsessions and paranoia.
The question again, which hopefully won’t be buried by Andy’s nuttiness this time (yes, I know, fat chance) is whether there is a way for those of us who would like to keep track of how the fundraising effort is going to do so.

Thank you for undertaking this worthy effort. Is there a way to stay on top of how the fundraising effort is coming along?”
The troll posting as “Great Ideas” is now trying to utilize the tactic of pretending to be a “nice guy” so he can try to win support for future trolling efforts (no doubt since I outed him for using an IP anonymizer). He’s attempting to divide and conquer, and to disrupt the group from engaging in discussion. This is all out of the troll playbook.
Thank you for undertaking this worthy effort. Is there a way to stay on top of how the fundraising effort is coming along?
