The Prohibtion Party of New York gave a mixed assessment of Governor Cuomo’s proposals. They approved of some of his proposals, such a passing the Child Victims Act, abolishing the statute of limitations for rape, increasing restrictions on tobacco, and requiring companies to label products that contain carcinogenic (cancer causing) substances. They stated their opposition to some of his proposals, such as legalizing recreational marijuana and legalizing sports betting. They criticized governor Cuomo for his history of supporting the alcohol industry, not taking adequate steps to improve education funding, not taking adequate steps to reduce the burden of property taxes, and for the poor results and corruption within the state’s economic development programs.
The Prohibition Party of New York put out its own list of proposed polices which included ending state support for the alcohol industry, increasing restrictions on alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs, increasing support for education, prevention, and rehabilitation efforts to combat alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs, increasing restrictions against gambling, passing stronger ethics laws for public officials, passing the Child Victims Act and Britany’s Law, abolishing the statute of limitations for rape, sexual assault, and the sexual abuse of children, reforming the state’s economic development programs, improving the quality of public education, expanding the state’s Tuition Assistance Program, improving services for those living with disabilities, and reforming the state fiscal system to reduce the burden of property taxes.
They ended their response with an appeal to the people of New York state to join them in their efforts to reform the state.

The New York Prohibition Party has always been cool; this is a good response, typical of their state leadership. It’s certainly deserving of attention, especially given the state of the national party.
