Krystal Knapp at Planet Princeton:

Chris Hedges, the Green Party candidate who announced on Wednesday that he would challenge Democratic U.S. Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman in the 12th District race this year, said on Twitter Thursday that he was dropping out already.
Hedges, a Princeton resident, said he was informed Thursday that according to FCC rules, he can’t run for federal office and have a national TV show. “I entered the race to bring up issues I care about, but this is not worth losing an important media platform,” Hedges wrote.
That doesn’t sound quite right, that the FCC is saying it’s because he has a national TV show, as the “Fairness Doctrine” doesn’t exist. Rather, as with appears to have been the case with Jesse Ventura, I’m venturing that the fact it’s on RT is the issue. Cliff Sommers notes the same at the link.
Hmmm , is WordPress acting up again? I thought I had commented.
Anyway, I think Hedges has this wrong, whether accidentally or not, as Cliff Sommers has noted in comments at the link as well. There is no more Fairness Doctrine, so the FEC wouldn’t say this. Rather, it’s likely Hedges has a Jesse Ventura problem, as his show is on RT.
Howard Stern found out the same thing many years ago.
Same old comment problem. I’m just online more again and manually clearing the cache more often. But I do have to sleep and run errands, etc.
Stern dropped out of his race because he didn’t want to open his books. He also didn’t want to win the race and he still believes to this day he had a shot of winning.
Stern said his radio contract prohibited him from disclosing his income.
