Jo Jorgensen: This is Why You Shouldn’t Read the Comments

Yesterday 2020 Libertarian presidential nominee Jo Jorgensen sent out the following statement listing some of the comments she has received about her campaign and addressing the 2024 presidential nomination:

You won’t believe the messages I’ve been getting since election day.

According to Trump’s most diehard supporters, I and my 1.8 million supporters were solely responsible for the President’s defeat. Here are a few of their “well-reasoned, thoughtful” comments:

“F** you mother f***ing c***”

“Thanks for destroying America!”

“Well Jo, hope you’re happy. You really helped elect Joe Biden, a far cry from a Libertain (sic). In Arizona you cost Trump the the (sic) state.”

“…You stole those much needed votes. Now we are entering into socialism. Shame on you…”

“you are the reason we have a “president” Biden you dumb f***ing c***.”

Ouch!

You’d think Biden supporters would be showering me with praise for delivering the election to their man. Nope.

“The 50,000 votes you received in Arizona would have gone to Biden and it would not have been such a close contention in that state.”

“Why? when knowing this election was about 1 thing and 1 thing only, would you run and take votes away from Biden?”

The Trump fans honestly believe you all would have voted for Trump — if only I hadn’t been on the ballot. Meanwhile, the Biden voters think you all would have voted Biden. They don’t have a clue.

I know from campaigning all across America that the vast majority of my support came from people like you, who were never going to vote for Trump or Biden.

And I have yet to hear from a single person who voted for me expressing regret that they “wasted their vote”. Quite the contrary. Thousands posted pictures on social media declaring that they had proudly “wasted their vote” by voting for what they truly wanted, rather than be bullied and shamed into voting for the lesser of two evils. And they’ve been writing to me as well.

“…I believe you were the best candidate for this election. Your approach to national problems were unbiased and logically thought through. I believe you would be a fantastic leader. Please run in the next election.”

“You’re one of the most well researched and articulate candidates I’ve ever seen”

“…Please Please Please Run Again!!!!”

“Thank you all! Please do not give up. There are more Libertarians than ever.”

“If Jo is running in 2024, I will not only support her, I will volunteer.”

“I applaud you for running against the two main parties in this country.”

“Please run in 2024!!! America needs saving …”

And this message from a soldier:

“Ma’am, I hope you run again in 4 years because I’m going to try and get your name out there as much as I can. Please don’t give up, give it another shot next election.”

Now it’s far too early to think about running again in four years. But it’s not too early to begin organizing and building support so whoever the Libertarian nominee is in four years can far exceed our results, and create even more unhappy Democrats and Republicans.

I and many members of our campaign team will be doing just that for the next four years. We can’t wait to get started.

But first we have to close down the 2020 campaign. There are final bills that have to be paid. And we have to pay every single one of them before the FEC will allow us to terminate the committee and stop filing reports.

I’m a lifelong libertarian – and I hate filing government forms. I want to complete work on the 2020 campaign so I can turn my full attention to helping state and local candidates, and laying the foundation for a record-setting 2024 presidential campaign.

Jo ran a good campaign in these troubling times……………………..thanks to everyone who helped out. Don’t forget there are elections in 2021 in New Jersey, New York City and Virginia ,

Thank you SO much for running, Jo. I’m so glad you had the courage to run, and be a choice and a voice for voters like me. My only regret is that more people didn’t vote for you.

I am glad that Libertarian Jo Jorgensen was on the ballot for me to vote for. Neither Trump or Biden were good choices for me. Thank you Dr. Jorgensen for taking the time and effort to run. And thank you to the Libertarian Party for continuing to provide the American voter with viable alternatives to the two big parties.

Thank you Jo for running a very solid campaign. I was very proud I voted for you. You ran the second best campaign after Ed Clark and you are the second best candidate after Ed Clark. You make the presidential candidacy of four years ago easy to put in the rear view mirror and easy to forget. And in light of this very rotten and crazy year of 2020 which is ending soon you are a positive among the madness. I am happy to have supported you from the beginning. Thank you, thank you, thank you. . .

Jose C… I agree with most of your comments. I might put her tied with Harry Browne for second place behind Ed Clark. I always discount former GOPers when considering true Libertarian campaigns.

This is NOT what was sent out by Jo’s campsign. All of the foul language that was in the original comments had been asterisked out. Anyone who knows Jo knows she would NEVER use language like that, even when quoting someone else.

The person posting this edited the original message, misrepresenting what had been sent to Jo’s supporters. Apparently IPR has joined the mainstream media in publishing “fake news”. Sad.

I don’t want to say much about Ed Clark or Harry Browne, because they were before my time. But out of the LP campaigns I’ve seen, I definitely think that Michael Badnarik was the best. He was a really inspirational figure at a time when the major parties were running two Patriot Act supporters. Of course, JoJo would have to take second place by default, because this is only the second time since I started voting that the Libertarian Party has actually run a liberty supporter for president.

Now, if you include people running libertarian campaigns with other political parties, then Ron Paul’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns were the best by far. It’s really too bad the LP didn’t take advantage of that opportunity.
