No Labels Attracts National Attention

The No Labels political movement is attracting significant national attention, at this point considerably more than other third parties. Other Parties? Green Party Presidential candidate Cornel West, historically a national prominent figure, has drawn some notice for his stands on the Russo-Ukrainian War. One state’s Libertarian Party has been widely criticized for its strange posts on Twitter. Rumors that there will be an active new party as a result of the Libertarian Party internal feud do not appear to have born fruit.

By report No Labels is organized as a non-profit, legally does not reveal its donors or expenditures, and is entirely focused on a Presidential candidate, and that only if the Democrats and Republicans will be running Biden and Trump. No Labels groups are currently taking steps to place an un-named Presidential candidate on the ballot in Arizona, Colorado, Oregon and Alaska. It appears that there is no intent to have No Labels candidates for other Federal or State offices.

Is No Labels actually planning on running a Presidential candidate? Former GOP strategist Mark McKinnon, who helped found the group, is quoted by Politico as saying “The whole idea is to save the republic from Donald Trump.” Former Biden speechwriter and current No Labels strategist Ryan Clancy is quoted as saying that No Labels would not run a candidate if the Republicans did not nominate Trump. There are suggestions in the press that No Labels will not run a candidate if they might cause President Biden to be defeated in his re-election campaign. There is vigorous disagreement as to whether No Labels will draw more from the Democrats or the Republicans. Partisans of each of those parties fear that they will be the losers if No Labels runs.

The group’s national convention will be held in April 2024, with plans to unveil a Presidential candidate at that time. It is unclear to this writer, who was a senior officer in one recent Libertarian Presidential campaign, how No Labels thinks it can get a Presidential campaign off the ground in the six months before the election.

Sen. Joe Manchin’s oped in today’s USA Today sure sounds like a man looking to run for president.

They’re budgeting $70 million per a leaked strategy call, way more than Americans Elect ever had, which is probably why the coordinated hatchet job is going on, powerful and rich people are backing it.

No Labels is the new Americans Elect.

I think Jon Huntsman would be someone that could attract some support if he was on the top of the ticket. Joe Machin, not so much.

There is one helluva massive coordinated media hatchet job going on right now on No Labels.
