Former Hawaii Congresswoman and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard will speak at a fundraiser for the benefit of the Libertarian Party of Iowa later this February.
In a press release posted on the Libertarian Party of Iowa’s website last Thursday, the party announced that Tulsi Gabbard is set to deliver keynote remarks during the dinner reception of an upcoming party fundraiser. The event is scheduled for February 17, 2024, at the Holiday Inn in Des Moines’ Downtown-Mercy Campus. It’s open to all paying attendees, with tickets available through the party’s website.
“Please join us for a dinner reception on Saturday, February 17 at 5:30 pm featuring keynote remarks by 4-term Congresswoman, 2020 Presidential Candidate, and US Army Reserve LTC Tulsi Gabbard,” the release states.
According to the party, “Congresswoman Gabbard will be speaking with us about the important values of freedom, liberty, and a variety of issues that unite lowans.”

Tulsi Gabbard represented Hawaii’s second congressional district from 2012 to 2020 before resigning to seek the Democratic nomination for the United States presidency. During her time in Congress, she was Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee for several years. In 2022, Gabbard made the announcement that she was leaving the Democratic Party to become an independent, citing her belief that the party “stands for a government of, by, and for the political elite.”

I wonder is former Rep. Gabbard is looking for a spot on a national ticket such as No Labels. She might make a wonderful addition paired with a Republican such as Liz Chaney or Nikki Haley.
Tulsi has been speaking a lot at events. I wonder if she is running for something or this is all for event fees?
