Republican Congressman Thomas Massie from Kentucky is scheduled to host a walking meet-and-greet at the Libertarian National Convention in Washington, D.C. next week. He is anticipated to attend the convention that Friday afternoon.
Massie’s attendance, announced by the Libertarian Party via X on Thursday, will follow his introduction of a bill earlier that morning aimed at ending the Federal Reserve. The bill, titled the Federal Reserve Board Abolition Act, seeks to abolish both the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve and its associated banks. Additionally, it proposes the repeal of the Federal Reserve Act, the 1913 legislation responsible for establishing the Federal Reserve System.
Massie is expected to be present at the convention some time later that afternoon, where he will give Libertarian delegates an opportunity to engage with him and discuss his proposed legislation.
“Thomas Massie’s commitment to pushing libertarian policies in congress is unmatched by anyone else in office right now. We deeply appreciate him and we’re excited he’s coming to visit us.,” the Libertarian Party said of Massie’s attendance.
Massie joins a growing roster of high-profile speakers announced by the Libertarian Party in recent weeks who will either speak or attend the convention. This lineup includes Republican former President Donald Trump, independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and former 2024 Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.
