New Super PAC Targets Larry Hogan in Maryland Senate Race, Urges Voters to Back Libertarian Mike Scott

Maryland voters are receiving robocalls urging them to support Libertarian candidate Mike Scott over Republican former Governor Larry Hogan in the state’s U.S. Senate race. The calls are associated with a Super PAC established within the past month.

According to Politico, the robocalls are linked to a newly formed Super PAC called Save Western Culture, created just weeks before the election. The committee urges Maryland voters to support Scott over Hogan, reportedly labeling Hogan “Lockdown Larry” and criticizing him for stating that former President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election. The calls contrast Hogan with Scott, who, reportedly according to the Super PAC, supports pardoning Trump and is described as “the only true conservative on the ballot.”

While Pre-General and 24-Hour Independent Expenditure Reports were filed last month, the group has yet to submit disclosures showing its fundraising sources and amounts. Available filings indicate that the Super PAC is based in Greenfield, Massachusetts, and has focused on boosting candidates nationwide through digital marketing. The latest 24-Hour Expenditure Report shows the organization spent nearly $127,000 across more than a dozen races.

Scott is also not the only Libertarian targeted by the organization. Recent reports show that Save Western Culture has funded ads pertaining to other Libertarians, including L. Rachel Dailey in Michigan’s seventh congressional district, Dennis Hayes in Montana’s first congressional district, Tom Bailey in North Carolina’s first congressional district, Sonja Feintech in Oregon’s fifth congressional district, and U.S. Senate candidate Ted Brown in Texas. It is also running ads for independent candidate Robert Reid in Virginia’s second congressional district.

    Based.

“The calls contrast Hogan with Scott, who, reportedly according to the Super PAC, supports pardoning Trump”

Pardon him for what? Operation Warp Speed? Libeling anarchists, libertarians and DeSantis? Not doing enough to get the legitimate results of the 2020 election recognized? Facilitating the murder and genital mutilation of children?

To be pardoned you first have to do something wrong, then be convicted for it, and finally show remorse. And while Trump has certainly done plenty wrong, he’s never been taken to court over any of that. And conversely, none of the trumped up charges – no pun intended – brought against him have had any merit or basis in reality.

I am pretty sure that ballot retenion in Maryland is only based on getting 1% of the vote for President or Governor, and Governor is not up this year.
