Young Forwardists Partner with Mark Cuban for AI Art Contest

The Young Forwardists, a committee of the Forward Party focused on youth engagement, announced this month that it is collaborating with billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban on an AI-generated art contest. As part of the event, the Forward Party is offering paid internships to contest winners.

In an email last Thursday, the committee announced the launch of its “Changemaker AI Contest,” inviting supporters to share AI-generated images related to political humor, visionary creativity, and “election season antics.” Submissions are those images shared over select social media platforms that include the appropriate hashtags, and are being accepted through April 21. The committee states it is looking for images that “drive engagement, challenge assumptions, and inspire action.”

According to further details, Cuban will serve as a guest judge for the contest, alongside Young Forwardists President Gabe McQuire and MJ Hall, vice chair of the North Carolina Forward Party. The three will select the overall winning submission later this month. While the committee doesn’t directly specify how category winners will be selected, it notes that “live voting” will be part of the contest process.

Finalists are expected to be announced by the Young Forwardists during a livestream event on Twitch and Zoom. The top winner will receive a personal email from Cuban. Meanwhile, the top three “overall winners” will be offered paid internship positions with the national Forward Party for this summer. These internships are remote and will focus on youth marketing, coalition-building, and political research over a ten-week period.
