Massachusetts Pirate Party to Host 2025 Spring Conference in Somerville

The Massachusetts Pirate Party will hold its 2025 Spring Conference in Somerville on June 15. The event will take place in the Lavender Room at Arts at the Armory and is the party’s second major gathering of the year.

According to details shared by the party, the conference is free and open to the public, though attendees are encouraged to register in advance. In-person participants are asked to wear masks, and the party will provide face coverings, COVID-19 tests, and air purifiers for those who need them. A livestream will also be available for those unable to attend in person.

A finalized agenda has not yet been released, but the party maintains a living planning document outlining proposed discussion topics. Among them are strategies for protecting personal privacy during protests, guidance on running for state and local office in Massachusetts, and maintaining privacy amid government and corporate surveillance.

The document also indicates the party has approached several individuals as potential speakers, including Vermin Supreme, the U.S. Pirate Party’s 2024 endorsed presidential candidate. As of this article, no speakers have been confirmed, and the party continues to seek additional guests.

The party previously met in Somerville in January for its Winter Conference, which included discussions on future planning following the start of the second Trump administration, promoting transparency throughout the state, and understanding Massachusetts’ municipal systems.
