The Florida Forward Party is accepting applications through September 6 for its State Executive Committee, the organization’s primary governing body. The party is seeking to expand its leadership from four to seven members, returning to its original structure.
In details shared last week, the party noted that several Executive Committee members had moved out of state or stepped back due to personal commitments. As a result, the committee currently has only four members. The party is also specifically seeking applicants with some experience in fundraising and financial management.
The application process officially opened on Monday, July 28, and will remain open until Friday, September 6. Finalists will be vetted by the current Executive Committee. Those who are approved by the committee will then be voted on by state party members in an internally-held statewide election.
According to the party, the Executive Committee functions as a working board, guiding its strategic direction, internal operations, volunteer engagement, and candidate management. It also handles more detailed responsibilities, such as approving press releases, and collaborates with the national Forward Party staff where relevant.
Interested candidates must be able to commit to a four-year term, contribute five to ten hours per week, and attend regular virtual meetings held biweekly on Sunday evenings. The party also anticipates one in-person meeting per year, typically in the fall, which is to be self-funded.
