Mimi Robson Appointed Libertarian National Committee Region 4 Alternate

Mimi Robson has been named the new Region 4 alternate on the Libertarian National Committee, filling a vacancy left by the resignation of Trendalyn Hallesy in September.

Robson’s selection was announced Wednesday on the LNC’s public Business List by Region 4 Representative Meredith Hays, who wrote, “Last night, LPCA’s ExCom selected a new alternate for Region 4 – Mimi Robson. Please welcome her to the Board.”

Robson currently chairs multiple committees of the Libertarian Party of California, including its Judicial, Financial Standards, and Convention Committees, and is a past candidate for the California Legislature. She has also been active within the party on a national level, having served in 2022 as secretary for the LNC’s Platform Committee.

Before that, Robson previously served as Chair of the Libertarian Party of California from 2018 to 2022 and was at one point the party’s secretary.

Robson succeeds Hallesy, who resigned in September on the grounds that a culture of dysfunction had developed within the national organization. At the time, Hallesy said she could not “in good conscience continue to participate in a body that no longer functions in service of its mission or its members.”

Her resignation came after months of internal friction over efforts to censure the Libertarian Party of New Hampshire over its use of social media and outreach, with Hallesy casting Region 4’s vote in favor of that censure and describing it as her “last and final act” as alternate.

Robson will serve through the 2026 Libertarian National Convention in Michigan, when regions will next reform and meet in caucus to select their next national representatives and alternates.

    It’s Hays, not Hayes.

Robson is a terrible choice. Way too far left.
