The Libertarian Party of New Hampshire will hold its annual state convention on March 14 in Manchester. Members will address party business and select delegates to represent the state at the Libertarian National Convention later in the year.
In a December 13 announcement, the party stated it will host its annual convention at the American Legion Maple Street Post, with business scheduled to start at 9:00 AM ET. No further business items or details related to programming were provided, aside from the party’s primary web links.
The venue listed in the notice also hosted the party’s 2025 state convention, where more than 100 individuals participated, including 80 as credentialed delegates and 24 as prospective delegates. That year saw several contested leadership races in which current leadership and supporters fended off a challenge from an original slate of five members, including the party’s 2024 gubernatorial nominee.
The slate experienced credentialing challenges; however, and ultimately fell short for each officer position it sought.
Under the most recent available bylaws of the Libertarian Party of New Hampshire, convention delegates must be dues-paying members in good standing for at least 35 days and must have been inhabitants of New Hampshire for at least the same period. Eligible members become credentialed delegates if they register for the convention no later than seven days before it begins. Those who register after that deadline may still attend as prospective delegates and may only be seated with the approval of a majority of properly credentialed delegates.
While there is not yet an agenda, the bylaws require that each state convention include reports from standing committees, the elections of party officers, and the consideration of proposed changes to the the bylaws, rules, and platform.
State convention business this year will also include the election of the Libertarian Party of New Hampshire’s delegation to the 2026 Libertarian National Convention, which will be held next May in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
According to figures published by the Libertarian National Committee, which are calculated based on support for the party’s most recent presidential nominee and the number of national members registered in the state, the New Hampshire affiliate is expected to be allocated 13 delegates to the national convention. That figure reflects no change from the prior convention allotment.
Editorial note: An earlier version of this article stated that the convention’s theme was “Become Insufferable.” That phrase was actually the party’s tagline in its call‑to‑convention notice, not the official theme
