Maryland Forward Party Elects Four New Members to Board of Directors

The Maryland Forward Party has announced the election of four new members to its Board of Directors during its annual meeting earlier this month. With the additions, the party’s leadership team now consists of 14 directors, excluding coordinators and regional leads.

State party leadership elections took place during the organization’s January 5 virtual annual meeting, where members also reviewed the party’s activities from the previous year and discussed priorities ahead of the 2026 election cycle. Members interested in participating in the elections were required to contact the party in advance for eligibility and meeting details.

According to information shared online this week by the Maryland Forward Party, voting members meeting elected Teddy Galloway, Matthew Sampson, Courtney Hart, and Laura Turbe to serve on the board for the coming year.

Additional details provided by the party state that Galloway has been active in organizing efforts in Frederick, including leading a city candidate forum put on by the Frederick Forward affiliate in 2025 and supporting its communications and strategic initiatives. Sampson was the party’s Howard County representative, where the organization said he focused on in-person engagement aimed at encouraging dialogue across political differences.

Hart was previously a volunteer with the organization and contributed to its public-facing materials, including website design and branding updates. She has also written commentary for the party and consulted on internal systems related to its data security, volunteer infrastructure, and process automation. Turbe, whom the party described as a newer member, has been active on both the Candidate Committee and the Montgomery County Community Engagement Committee and is preparing to assist with the party’s newly formed Volunteer Task Force.

As of January 9, the party’s website shows that the board’s leadership remains otherwise unchanged under Chair PJ Benenati. In addition to its board of directors, the Maryland Forward Party also identifies seven leads responsible for organizing and administrative roles, including operations, finance, outreach, and member coordination across Baltimore City and Harford County.
