Dustin Nanna, the Region 3 North representative on the Libertarian National Committee, has resigned from his position, stating that upcoming family changes have reduced his ability to commit time to a national leadership role.
In a December 31 announcement later reshared to the LNC’s public Business List, Nanna submitted his resignation effective immediately. In his statement, Nanna said he and his family are preparing to welcome their first child in the near future and that he no longer feels able to devote sufficient time and attention to his responsibilities on the committee.
“Serving Region 3 has been a tremendous honor, and I remain grateful for the trust and support of the members who placed their confidence in me,” Nanna wrote. “I have always been committed to advancing our shared goal of expanding liberty and strengthening our party’s presence throughout the region.”
Nanna has served on the Libertarian National Committee since 2018, when he was first elected as the Region 3 alternate. He was later elected in 2020 by state affiliate leaders to serve as the region’s representative.
Following a reorganization of the LNC’s regional structure at the party’s 2024 national convention, Region 3 was divided into North and South, and Nanna was elected to represent Region 3 North, which includes Missouri, Indiana, and Ohio. Beyond the national organization, Nanna is also the chair of the Libertarian Party of Ohio.
Under current LNC bylaws, Region 3 North Alternate Greg Hertzsch will assume the representative seat vacated by Nanna. The resulting alternate vacancy will then be filled through an internal selection process determined by the region’s state chairs. Hertzsch will serve for the remainder of the term, which runs through the 2026 Libertarian National Convention taking place in late May.
