I knew about Kurt due to my employment at LPHQ between 1989-1993. He mentioned that he had joined the LP in at least a couple of media interviews during that period, so this isn’t any great secret.
I was, however, very surprised to hear that he later gave the Democratic Party a rather huge donation (in the hundreds of thousands, as I recall) in the nineties. I did not check FEC records to confirm it, but if that’s true, it kind of throws cold water on the celebration…
Nevertheless, Kurt’s film work is among my favorite; right alongside Eastwood’s and Schwarzeneggar’s (who, by the way, was at one time identified as a supporter of the Reason Foundation — too bad he’s been such a royal disappointment as governor).
Kurt Russel.
Awesome and Libertarian.
Rock on.
The whole thing is rather silly and pathetic.
Kennedy Montgomery and Larry Elder are warmongers.
I’m sure I’d find other warmongers on that list if I spent time on it.
Warmongers are not libertarian, even if they use the word “libertarian”.
It’s sickening and pathetic the way the LP and some libertarians are so desperate to claim libertarian celebrities that they’ll lower the standards.
I think Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly have claimed to be “libertarian” at one time or another.
Lots of right-wing warmonger celebrities say, “I’m really a libertarian” because it goes over better in Hollywood.
They ruined the term “conservative,” and now they’re ruining the term “libertarian.”
Meanwhile, the idiots running the LP are pointing to warmongers and saying, “My, look at all the libertarians out there!”
How many of them are actually “Big L” libertarians?
Whom ever will locate the Steve Gordon funds for the replacement for ‘Hammer of Truth’ ????????
