Rand Paul has been involved in a controversy lately because of statements, made in several interviews, concerning the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Paul took issue with the portion of the act which disallows discrimination on private property. Now Alan Keyes, an African-American conservative is wading into the controversy to offer his opinion.
Thanks to the old myth that gentlemen prefer blondes, it was all the rage in ancient times (actually the 1950’s) for brunettes and such to dye their hair. It required some upkeep to maintain the image because as their hair grew their natural color would show at the roots.
That little tidbit of social studies came to mind as I read that “Rand Paul of Kentucky labored Thursday to explain remarks suggesting businesses be allowed to deny service to blacks without fear of federal interference, declaring, “I abhor racial discrimination.”
I seriously doubt that Rand Paul favors keeping blacks away from lunch counters (though I won’t say the same for some of the Ron Paul supporters I met on the campaign trail in 2008.) But despite the changes in rhetoric he’s making to pick up votes this election season, the roots of his political views are driven deep into the soil of free will libertarianism, the kind that forgets the relationship between real liberty and the existence of God-ordained natural law.
Keyes is a former Ambassador to the United Nations (’85-’87), Senatorial candidate in both Maryland and Illinois (’88 and ’92 in the first, ’04 in the later), and presidential candidate (in ’96, ’00, and ’08)–all of those campaigns were conducted as a Republican, with ’08 being the notable exception. In ’08 he began the campaign as a Republican, later joined the Constitution Party, and after losing that party’s nomination in a convention battle with Chuck Baldwin, he formed his own party–the America’s Independent Party.

[g] Ever take any Journalism 301 upper level courses that covered the early days of electronic ‘tagging’ where radio and TV filled up air time with staff persons literally reading the daily paper?
[h] The on line fund raiser for the ‘general improvement’ of IPR. Hmmmmmmmmmm
[i] Coty Banks Quirk, the world’s oldest living eleven year old!

Dearest Zero and Gruntman:
Missed youse at the Mensa call up.
There is a phrase ‘tipping point’ and it indicates a decision process.
‘Fork in the road’ is an older, more discriminative, one way decision action.
Ya see, tipping can go back and forth, but very few travelers walk all the way back to the dividing area of the journey.
This decision process is fairly universal on this planet. And clear headed, thinking adults need to consider a wide range of examples and options in their consideration of their personal small problems and considerations.
aka: ‘Think globally / universally; act locally’
To Zero and Gruntman: I am partially responsible for your ignorance. I am not at all responsible for your stupidity!
” Whatchyou talkin’ about Lake?”
Response – ” The Fool ” rarely gets a glimpse of what he is talking about.
” We need people BETTER than the average lying ”
Response – Why not start with yourself not lying about Chelene or anyone else? Just look in the mirror for where stopping lying can start.

Whatchyou talkin’ about Lake?
People introduced to ‘forks in the road’ in their existence come from every back ground and every ‘corner of the globe’.
Again, thx to the immature zealot tossed out California for the smear. Again, it made my day!
No, but he’s still a moron 99.99% of the time.
“This global ‘community under the skin’ includes the bone thru the nose tribes person, the New Zealand librarian, the Latin American soccer (REAL foot ball) player, the North American patriots of the motley crew concerning ‘Loyal Opposition’ of the Duopoly Establishment ……….”
I literally don’t know what this means. Do you think this makes sense?
Ah, I see we have our tin foil hats on, do we feel better now that we can’t hear the voices?
thx for kicking off my three day week end, it made my day!
Hey Don Lake….
YOU’RE AN IDIOT!

Mister Hill, plz rethink the rest of your life! Look how you are conducting your self!
You can be better than Grundmann, Banks, Mr. King, Mrs King, Lussenheide, Brazeale (s), Nightingale, Steve Kubby, ctweber, Knapp, Phillies, W. A. R.
Any adult stumbling, bumbling into the final earthly abyss has various moments on the ‘Road to Damascus’. (The biblical Saul / Paul event after the Christ crucifixion.)

We need people BETTER than the average lying, scheming, plotting Democan or Republicrat.
It is a three day week end (altho I am unaware of your family and employment situation) and think about some quiet sit down time with you self and think about the big questions and you oh so human response to same.
I have been worried about the soul of the nation of my birth since the Nixon – JFK debate of 1960.
While I currently hold you in the same regard as my rat fink fellow former ‘reformers’, I have hope for your future.
(Of course I once felt the same way about Lib /BTP Tom ‘From the Old Neighborhood’ Knapp and Jim ‘Buy An Endorsement’ Gilchrist and Chelene Ward Nightingale [ as convicted in a recent fraud trial]. )
*the biggest, most pathetic.
…crapola. Yes, you are correct. I should’ve done my homework better.
I don’t think he ran in 92 or 04 for president. I do remember his bids in 96, 2000 and 08 of course.

“Trent, how did Alan Keyes run for President in ‘92? That was the year Buchanan challenged Bush in the primary. Did Keyes also challenge Bush?”
He didnt, I need to edit the article. Good catch.
Leaving aside the AIP controversy, Keyes is Harold Stassen on meth and steroids; he is biggest the most pathetic loser in American politics that ever lived, period.
I would be interested in knowing what specific sections of the bill it is that others find objectionable. After all it covers more than one issue.
Alan Keyes is the reason we have Obama as president today. Illinois brought him in to run again BO, after running Jack Ryan out of town with BS stories about him and his wife participating in sex clubs. Keyes didn’t even live in Illinois, but that never matters in the most corrupt state in the country. Daley, Madigan, Durbin, Emmanuel, Obama, Ryan, Blago, the list is endless.
Trent, how did Alan Keyes run for President in ’92? That was the year Buchanan challenged Bush in the primary. Did Keyes also challenge Bush?
Shameless plug:
Former Ohio Sec. of State Ken Blackwell – an African American – was a guest on “Libertarian Politics Live” last night with Jim & Andre, defending Rand Paul.
You can hear it at LibertarianRepublican.net
If Alan Keyes wants to talk about ” the existence of God-ordained natural law ” he should talk about his own lying and corruption in violation of that law by having his California lieutenants file fake documents with the California Secretary of State office as documented at TheCorruptionOfAlanKeyes.blogspot.com. Ron Paul supporters of whatever type have far more integrity and honor than Keyes who has demonstrated himself to be a backstabbing liar.
Don J. Grundmann, D.C. Vice-Chairman American Independent Party, California branch of the Constitution Party
Alan Keyes trivia.
Let’s hope those kids maintain their tendency to vote for an “other” candidate.
Total from Illinois schools for the mock election. Approx. 90,000 votes cast.
http://www.nationalmockelection.org/results4.html
2004 US Senate
Barack Obama (Democrat) 51.1%
Alan Keyes (Republican) 20.7%
Jerry Kohn (Libertarian) 24.4%
Albert Franzen (Independent) 3.8%
That didn’t translate at all to the “adult’s” general election. I say let kids vote.
He has run for President 5 times, Senate 3 times, and does not yet have a win under his belt–indeed he never even really came close.
Time Cube is more reasonable than Keyes’s views on abortion. “I believe in the Constitution…and now I don’t.”
That’s just sad. Well, I guess he’ll be dead soon.
He’s definitely still around.
Ah, Reagan’s token black that supported Apartheid. He’s still around?
