Time magazine, and it’s not-so secret progressive Editors and writers chose to quote Wayne Root on Obama.
They quote from Wayne’s recent article ‘Obama – the Great Jobs Killer.’
Pg 14 of July 19th edition of Time: “It’s time to call Obama what he is: The Great Jobs Killer. With his massive spending and tax hikes– rewarding big government, and big unions, while punishing taxpayers and business owners- Obama has killed jobs, he has killed motivation to create new jobs, he has killed the motivation to invest in new businesses, or expand old ones. With all this killing, Obama should be given the top spot on the FBI’s Most Wanted List.”

One can visit a plethora of websites to see the full article, including the national LP Blog and Wayne Root’s own.

I may not like Susan’s wardrobe or interpersonal skills, but she’s clearly a skilled Editor.
I can see my lack of formal edumecation puts me at a disadvantage when trying to communicate.
I did learn a few things and have assigned myself to reread Susan’s coaching to make my English more gooder. Soonliest I canz.
@ paulie touche!
@Robert lol
sh, not one to nitpick over comments on blogs, which are written informally and often hastily (I know I often do), but you missed one.

Should be a comma after “writers.”
Corrections on articles are good.
New articles are even better.
Time having “not-so-secret progressive editors and writers” is amusing in and of itself.
I’m assuming everyone here has forgotten the man who founded Time, evil-incarnate Henry Luce. Luce’s paranoid fantasies about the U.S. “letting China” fall into Communism were a driving force behind the Second Red Scare, McCarthyism, the Domino Theory, and Vietnam [yes, Vietnam], amongst other things. The combined Luce/McCarthy hysteria about Communists ‘infiltrating’ the U.S. government and dictating its foreign policy purged America of its best Asian experts (the very experts who were later cleared, but, having lost their jobs, had no voice to warn that Vietnam was an anti-colonial nationalist movement more than a communist one), and set up a disastrous foreign policy. Moreover, it created a nightmarish domestic policy wherein the military industrial complex rose in response to Time/media-created fearmongering.
Fuck Time Magazine.
@Jill you may be right.
“Time magazine, and it’s not-so secret progressive Editors and writers chose to quote Wayne Root on Obama.”
1. Didn’t capitalize “Magazine”. I’ve just rethought this one and think it’s up in the air, but “Time” should be italicized.
2. “it’s” is incorrect possessive form.
3. not-so-secret (missing dash)
4. Editors (misplaced cap)
5. This last one ‘chose’ – is only an error in context, as it represents a tense shift with respect to the next sentence.
I must be losing my touch. I only see 4 errors in Bruce’s sentence.
Real libertarian blah blah blah. We don’t need you blah blah blah.
Arguments always sound the same, don’t they.
Susan, haven’t seen you here in a while.
I am pretty sure Mr. Root’s quote would be here…
http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,2002528,00.html
But since Time wants to sell magazines, I think they did not put the entire column on that web page.
I am guessing that you have to get the actual paper version of that issue of Time to see Mr. Root’s quote.
Paulie @16 That would take care of two of the English errors, at least. 🙂
No. It’s not in the LP blog version either:

Is there a link to this quote on the Time website?
I agree that the “not-so secret progressive Editors and writers” should be taken out.
Bruce writes: “Time magazine, and it’s not-so secret progressive Editors and writers chose to quote Wayne Root on Obama.”
Wow, editorializing *and* incorrect English, in the very same sentence. This makes IPR look extremely amateurish. I would do Bruce the favor of editing, but I’m sure he’d just complain bitterly about being ‘censored’. Someone who writes standard English should clean this up, though.
I count at least five errors in that one sentence, and that’s just at first glance. And that’s aside from the whole editorializing issue.
I’m guessing he wants to prevent a mosque from being built near WTC.
If Root thinks Obama should be on the FBI’s Most Wanted List shouldn’t Root have been convicted and sent to jail for many year for scamming thousands of clients with his boiler room sports touting business?
W.A.R. needs hyperbole!
While there’s no smoking gun here, I find this statement uncomfortable. The frequent juxtaposition of the words “kill” and “Obama” coupled with the suggestion that Obama be on the FBI’s Most Wanted list, could evoke an ugly sub-text, especially in a sick mind.
I find loose talk like this counterproductive.
Since when are Right wing loons the definers of libertarianism. They are nothing but tea party conservatives using libertarian sounding slogans while pushing conservative policies.
No Buck, I’m not worried about Root getting elected to Congress as a Libertarian. Nobody can do that. -(without PLAS)- He might could pull it off as a Republican, though.
Tom, what is Eric up to? Trying to get an injunction gainst Goldman Sachs providing a mortgage to the Catholic Trotskyist Crystal Cathedral in Salt Lake City?
Eric,
It might be hilarious if I “questioned Wayne Root’s Libertarian credentials” … but I didn’t. In point of fact, I’ve even been known to defend him on “credentials” grounds in the past.
To paraphrase the “Johnny Ringo” character in “Tombstone,” your English is as bad as your Spanish.
Furthermore, a guy whose current favorite cause is getting government to forcibly stop private funders from building a church on privately owned land is in no position to pick a “credentials” fight.
Hilarious that a non-Libertarian like Knapp would question Wayne Root’s Libertarian credentials.
Hey Knapp, sorry. But Leftists don’t get to decide who is and who is not a Libertarian in our Libertarian movement. Only us REAL LIBERTARIANS, get to decide that. We’re happy you’re a fellow traveler Leftist in our Libertarian movement, and at least not openly hostile to our Libertarian views. But that’s all you are. A fellow traveler. Most certainly NOT a real Libertarian.
Eric,
Heart attack stuff? No.
Heartburn stuff, probablty. If I still maintained any personal interest in the LP’s credibility or future success, I’d almost certainly be popping Maalox just from seeing the phrase “Libertarian Wayne Root.”
And yes, I guess I do maintain SOME interest in the LP’s credibility/ future success. The appearance of that phrase was what moved me to go looking for a more serious, less nauseating headline, resulting in the Stagliano 2012 story.
This is hardly heart attack stuff on either side of the great Root Divide.
Congratulations!
Whew! I had to re-read that before I got it.
This is absolutely horrible. WAR’s poison is creeping farther into the mainstream media. WAR is not ideologically pure enough to be a spokesman for the Libertarian party and Libertarianism.
Somebody needs to put a trademark on the word “Libertarian”, so neo con charlatans like WAR can’t bastardize what the party stands for. People like Tim Sipos, George Phillies and Robert Milnes are more qualifed to speak for the party than WAR.
WAR is just so pro war.
WAR must be stopped. Someday we will wake up and find WAR is the first elected Libertarian to Congress. We must stop that from happening.
I say all this tongue firmly planted in cheek.
Congratulations Wayne!
