H/T Doug Craig:
Sharon Rondeau at The Post and Email:
MR. SWENSSON: He has never made any statement other than to say that he saw the Factcheck.org “birth certificate” and he’s satisfied that Obama is a natural born Citizen. I’ve never gotten anything more than that from Mr. Isakson; neither have any of the people with whom I am associated, one of whom is a member of the Clayton County GOP. (Ret) LTC Bob Holtzclaw is also very much aware of this and has been thwarted at every attempt at trying to get Senator Isaakson and Senator Chambliss, by the way, to come forward and find out if Obama actually is eligible.
So Bob came up with the motion to withdraw support for Isakson. Since we had no other candidate running for this Senate seat, we decided to shift our support over to the Libertarian candidate, Chuck Donovan. The meeting went well; the motion was put forth, and it carried. It was passed by a vote of 3-2 with several others abstaining at that point, not knowing which way to go on it. That’s history, true and correct history. But now enters the problem.
The first problem is that the Clayton County Committee Chairwoman, Della Ashley, decided that she wasn’t going to put down the true and correct Minutes because she didn’t know how to do it and not walk away with egg on her face. She knows it’s going to look bad for the Republicans of this county because one of the things that we’re fighting right now is a little clause in the rules for Republicans here, and that is that we blindly support any and all Republican candidates. We cannot support anybody other than a Republican candidate.
Now that’s all fine and well whenever you have people who are actually doing what their oath demands them to do, but when you don’t, and you have people voting in favor of things such as TARP, the Stimulus bill, and all of these other abominations, not the least of which is the Wall St. bailout and the takeover of part of the auto industry – these are not called for anywhere in the Constitution, and they know it.
MRS. RONDEAU: Did Isakson vote for those things?
MR. SWENSSON: He voted for TARP and he voted for the Stimulus.

MPP reports:
The latest edition of MPP Insider newsletter (via email) says that the Obama-Biden gang is going ahead with the nomination despite MPP’s efforts. This is a kick in the nuts that some very sick and dying people certainly don’t need or deserve.
Thus, one of the very few remaining areas where the Obama regime was supposed to be an improvement over Bush has gone the way of the dodo bird. One can only hope that Leonhart, and everyone involved with her nomination, chokes on their own vomit while receiving irrumatio from a prison guard, after going blind slowly from glaucoma, in a Guantanamo Bay holding cell. Alternatively, for those of you with a more forgiving and religious bent, you may want to pray that God have mercy on their souls.
Every time it looks like Obama has finally done something good, he weasels his way out of it. The more I think about it, the more it seems he really is George W. Bush in disguise.
How is it again, that Obama is like Bush?
Bush started two unconstitutional wars against civilian populations which did not attack the US. Obama has continued them, and ramped one up.
Bush suspended numerous civil liberties under the false pretense of fighting terrorism. Obama has continued the practice.
Bush increased government spending faster than any president since FDR and led us into a severe recession which many people believe is a new depression. Obama has continued the same big government policies and the economy still sucks.
Bush got the federal government more involved with medical care (Medicare Part D), and so did Obama. Bush got the feds more involved with education (“No Child’s Behind Left”). Obama probably will take us further down the same road.
Bush revived legalized torture, indefinite detention and secret prisons. Obama has not stopped it.
Bush’s drug enforcement goons raided medical marijuana facilities which were legal under state law. So have Obama’s.
Under Bush, the government revived the practice of prosecuting people for obscenity. This has continued under Obama.
I could go on, but I think it is easier to surmise that there is no Barack Obama, it’s just W under a fake name.
Barack Obama is an inside job…
sc: A political party, or any other political organization, is a means to an end, not an end in itself. When its members start treating it as an end in itself, that is a sign it has gone badly off track.
me: Yes, but defining the “ends” and determining the “means” should be open for discussion. Does Mean Z promote End A? A matter of opinion, yes? Is End A1 “superior” to End A2, or otherwise? Also conjecture.
Along the way, all we can do is what we believe is The Right Thing (what’s indicated). Sometimes, we don’t. Deal with it, it’s the human condition.
Congratulations to Chuck Donovan on the endorsement.
I feel much as Red Phillips does — not a birther, but becoming an anti-anti-birther. Enough questions have been raised that I think it’s reasonable for people to be asking questions. If it’s true that Obama has not released his original birth certificate, he should do so.
I appreciate the members of the Clayton County GOP being willing to buck their party leadership and vote their beliefs, and I believe that Libertarian Party members should likewise be free to endorse outside the LP when the candidate of another party is the most libertarian-oriented candidate in a particular race.
Supporting an organization for the sake of supporting an organization is pointless. The LP is only worth supporting to the extent it stands for libertarianism, and our first allegiance as LP members should always be to libertarianism, and to the larger libertarian movement that is seeking to spread this idea.
A political party, or any other political organization, is a means to an end, not an end in itself. When its members start treating it as an end in itself, that is a sign it has gone badly off track.
Hmm. That is a significant endorsement, regardless of its origins. Congratulations!

Let’s see now:
George W. Bush proposed Privatization of Social Security mid-way in his Presidency.
Bush appointed 12 libertarians, including two prominent former Libertarian Party members to top positions in his administration. (One a former LP Chair to a Cabinet level position.)
Bush gave the country the biggest Tax Cut in 2003 since Reagan.
How is it again, that Obama is like Bush? Has one single Libertarian been appointed to anything under Obama? Has Obama proposed privatizing even a single Gov. Agency? Where are the Tax Cuts?
I could maybe take Mr. Swennson seriously if he had his facts straight. He says Isakson voted for the stimulus, but the record shows he OPPOSED it and voted AGAINST it. He says Isakson says he’s satisfied Obama is a US citizien, but what he leaves out is that Isakson then went on to say that the President should make his birth certificate available just to clear the air. Facts are a stubborn thing, but don’t let the facts get in the way of your inane and otherwise not well thought out argument.
That’s the problem with these “birthers”, they aren’t the sharpest knives in the drawer.
Some of us thought, during Dubai-ya Bush’s court-appointed reign of error, that there was a high chance he would call off the pretense of elections entirely, and use some (possibly engineered) tragic event to stay in office under “emergency” martial law — the better to avoid war crimes prosecution.
But, I think he stumbled on something even more clever: he went to Mexico, got a tan and some plastic surgery, dropped the fake hillbilly accent and phony dumb cowboy act, and made his way around the pesky problem of the 22nd Amendment to the US Constitution by being elected under a fake name: Barack Obama.
Not only does this explain why his policies are so seamlessly continuous from one term to the next, but it solves the mystery of the “missing” birth certificate that is constantly brought up by the birther nuts – even though he was obviously in fact born in the US. It’s just that he was not born as Barack Obama, but as George W. Bush, son of George H. W. Bush.
Sure, I know how absurd and far-fetched this may sound to some, but can anyone provide a better hypothesis to fit all the observed facts? 😛
I am not a birther, but I have become with time an anti-anti-birther. It is entirely reasonable for people to want to see Obama’s “long form” birth certificate and no real reason why he shouldn’t just release it. However, dogmatic statements, such as the one made by Mr. Swensson in the article, that Obama is not a natural born citizen are not warranted. But that is for another thread. What follows is just some context.
Clayton County used to be a majority white, blue-collarish, south suburban Atlanta county full of airline and airport employees. It is now majority minority and is controlled by the Democrats. The Republican Party in Clayton County is domed to perpetual irrelevance. That makes participating in and controlling the Clayton County GOP a low stakes game. You often see this sort of radicalism, that would be suppressed in a larger more relevant county party, in places where the dominance of one party has made the other party virtually irrelevant.
Also if you get a chance please friend Chuck Donovan it will end up one of the best campaigns this year for the Libertarian party

I agree we did not go looking for it. This is not a small county in Georgia this is the county the Atlanta Airport is in.
Libertarians really dont need the endorsement of retarded birthers, we got enough problems as it is.
