The Minnesota Independence Party reports that IP hopefuls have filed in special elections scheduled for State Senate in the 46th District and the 61st District:
Tom Reynolds is seeking the seat in District 46, comprised of Brooklyn Park and Brooklyn Center. Tom is a licensed real estate broker highly engaged with a wide variety of community development, nonprofit, faith and business groups throughout Minnesota. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
“There can be no higher priority than getting people back to work and stopping the home foreclosure disaster,” Tom says on his website. Visit www.reynolds4senate.org to read more.
In Minneapolis’ District 61, first-time candidate and Whittier neighborhood resident Matt Brillhart is running as an IP candidate. Matt works at Metro Transit and attends the University of Minnesota where he will graduate this year with a degree in Urban Studes.
Matt is passionate about urban development and revitalization programs and believes the state needs to truly reform its tax system rather than increasing income taxes or further delaying school payments. He describes himself as “socially liberal and fiscally moderate.”
