On Friday, September 26 at Reason Magazine’s Washington DC Headquarters, Libertarian Party presidential candidate Bob Barr participated in the presidential debates with a live studio audience. Here, he makes his closing statement and fields questions from the audience; the moderator is reason Editor in Chief Matt Welch.
Bob Barr blog reports that
We are told that anywhere between 175 to 200 people were in attendance last night, that includes media.

agree or disagree, you must admit Barr is putting his ass on the line standing up for “his” Libertarian Party here…
yet some still insist he is a GOP “plant” bent on destroying the LP or some such nonsense. don’t get it.
And Barr pretty much nailed it. There is no possible way anyone can disagree with that.
Barr’s quote at the end:
“What [Ron Paul supporters] ought to be is disappointed in Ron Paul’s behavior. Endorsing the theocratic candidate that is Chuck Baldwin, whose party platform bears very little relationship to the true libertarian platform, makes no sense whatsoever. What we are trying to do, through my nomination and candidacy as the Libertarian nominee, is what we had hoped Ron Paul would have done and that is to provide true, focused leadership for the libertarian movement. Instead, what Congressman Paul did a couple of weeks ago was to hold a news conference as a sitting Republican member of congress – who by all accounts intends to remain a Republican member of congress – and invite four very divergent candidates: the Constitution candidate, the Green Party candidate, an independent candidate and the Libertarian candidate and present those as sort of a ‘Godfather’ to the American people and say ‘you have four candidates here who stand for very very different messages, vote for one of them.’ That’s not leadership. That’s not moving the libertarian agenda – which Ron Paul used to espouse, and do so very eloquently – forward.”
I watched the debate online at Reason TV.
Audio and video were good.
The online connection counter was above 1,000.
