A Princeton Survey Research Associates International poll conducted for the Minneapolis Star Tribune, of 1,084 likely Minnesota voters (+/- 3.7%), finds Independence Party U.S. Senate nominee Dean Barkley at 18%. Democrat Al Franken is at 43%, and incumbent Republican Norm Coleman 34%.

With a good performance in the debates, I think Barkley could well win this.
I actually disagree with those commenters who think Ventura would have made a stronger candidate. Ventura brings a lot of baggage, including a generally negative view of his performance as Governor, that Barkley simply doesn’t have. Barkley is doing a fantastic job with next to no resources, and I’d love to see him elected.
Good to see Barkley holding in another poll around 20%. I find Franken’s big lead over Coleman hard to believe though, especially after another poll showed Coleman ahead by about 10%.
Hilarious article over at the star tribune. one Barkley supporters said, in a nutshell, that he’s not a fan of satire, and after watching Franken’s act, and Colemans performance in the Senate…he decided to go with Barkley.
